Charlotte Church Sings Suo Gân Traditional

I was listening to one of those free CDs you get with those music magazines. Suddenly I recognized a very familiar tune, which until now I had only heard on Williams' Empire of the Sun. This version, for solo soprano and orchestra is simply stunning. Charlotte appears to be only 12 years old when she recorded this for her debut album 'Voice of an Angel'. Check it out the next time you visit your local record store.

Of course there's a good chance that this is old news, after all, the CD is from 1999.

I just listened to it, but I think the empire of the sun version is better.

Better? Better?? I wasn't aware that it was a competition. No, the two are totally different from one another and they are both beautiful. The Charlotte Church version is more oriental and has some dramatic chord changes that puts it the song in a different perspective.

I thought I'd heard that, too, but I asked myself, "Who's ever heard of Welsh music? Celtic's more common, so it's probably Celtic."

This version is even played by the Orchestra of the Welch Opera. It also says Traditional Welch.

I think you just offened the entire WelSh nation.
