I had no idea. I've been listening to many of his recordings lately and they are all spectacular. If you see his name on an album, you can be guaranteed great sound. Rest in peace, Mr. Wilkinson.

:sigh:

I feel really bad that we I didn't find out till now.

My grandfather has the his recording of Britten's War Requiem. Fantastic record. He was a fan of his, and has a large collection of Decca albums just because of the quality of the recordings.

I only have his recordings of Star Wars/Close Encounters Of The Third Kind and Return Of The Jedi.

But i treasure both, especially the SE/CE3K recording, since it has played such a huge part in my earliest years as a film score fan.

The sound on this recording is simply perfect, no more, no less.

It's a pity these Gerhardt releases are so hard to find in stores.

Stefancos- curious about the Korngold recordings.

I am saddened.

K.M.-Who doesn't know who Kenenth Wilkensen is

He was a brilliant recording engineer most notably known for Gerhardt's "Classic Film Scores" series from RCA.
