The Chronological Film Score Thread

After Company Car by David Arnold, the following cue is titled Shaken Not Stirred, written by Simon Greenaway & Sacha Collisson. Then we hear Gavin Greenaway's re-recording of It Had To Be You for piano, followed by Adrift (a favourite cue of mine, which is titled after Bond's joke to Carver about being "lost at sea... adrift"). This cue was also written by Simon Greenaway & Sacha Collisson.

Was it not Starr Parodi and Jeff Fair? I'm sure it was for its original release but sometimes they change the logos on prints used for DVD/Blu-ray so I am not sure.

Dark Shadows

Score album = OST

You need the soundtrack album for one track.

Notes:

- The tracks on the score album often flow into each other, so don’t forget fade-ins and fade-outs.

- I put together the tracks where there is no sort of gap at all.

- Some of the cues are shortened for the album.

1m1 Intro

OST 1

1m3 Vicky Enters

OST 3

2m4 Resurrection

OST 2

2m7 Pt 1 Barnabus Comes Home – Pt 1

OST 7

3m1 Barnabus Sees Vicky

OST 6

3m5 Deadly Handshake

OST 4

3m10 Hypnotizing Captain

OST 9

3m12 Lava Lamp

OST 14

4m11 Vicky’s Nightmare

OST 8

5m4 Killing Dr Hoffman / 5m5 Dumping the Body

OST 10 + 11

(Don’t know if these cues follow each other in the film directly as well.)

5m7 Roger Departs

OST 12

5m9 Confession / 5m10 Burn Baby Burn / 5m11 In-tombed

OST 13

6m01-02 Faceoff

OST 15

6m03 House of Blood / 6m04ALT Final Confrontation / 6m05 Pt 1 Widow’s Hill / 6m06 End Credits REV (+ALT Str. Intro)

OST 16 + 17 + 18 + 19

(Not everything’s continuous in the film, but the album doesn’t have clean openings or endings anyway.)

You need to edit in the clean ending from soundtrack album track 10.

BONUS TRACKS

Intro (Alternate Insert)

OST 21

I’m pretty sure this track is an alternate insert for either “Intro” or “Widow’s Hill”. Your pick, but I think the “Intro” is more likely. More or less the same length, and the sheet music indicates that there’s a new inserted section in that cue.

Deadly Handshake (Alternate)

OST 20

I’m not sure of course, but I think it’s quite possible that this track is an alternate for “Deadly Handshake”.

End Credits (Film Edit)

Soundtrack album track 10

End Credits (Alternate Mix)

OST 5

This seems to be an alternate mix of the first section of the “End Credits”.

Here's a revised / updated list for The Desolation of Smaug

This incorporates the "Thrain" bonus track from the recently released Battle of the Five Armies SE 2CD set.

NOTE 1: This is for the order as the film existed when the music was recorded; In the final cut(s), PJ moved a few scenes around from where they originally were.

NOTE 2: I created my own names here for a few parts (where the OST track had to be split into pieces, or the name Shore chose for the OST didn't represent accurately the music in the track)

NOTE: All times are per the SE OST, not the Standard OST.

1-01 The Quest For Erebor (3:22)

1-02 Wilderland (4:56)

1-03 A Necromancer (2:54)

1-04 The House of Beorn (4:52)

1-05 Mirkwood (5:31)

1-06 Flies And Spiders (9:35)

1-07 The Woodland Realm (5:14)

1-08 Feast Of Starlight (2:48)

1-09 Barrels Out Of Bond (1:50)

1-10 The Forest River (5:10)

1-11 Bard, A Man Of Lake-Town (3:18)

1-12 The High Fells (3:38)

2-03B [2:24-end] "Captured" (0:40)

2-03A [0:00-2:24] "All Will Share In The Wealth Of The Mountain" (2:24) - a clean ending for this is available on the Standard OST

2-04 In The Shadow Of The Mountain (2:15)

2-05A [0:00-1:26] "A Spell Of Concealment / The Hidden Door" (1:26)

BOFA SE OST 2-12 [0:00-1:49] / 2-06 "Thrain / On The Doorstep" (9:50)

2-08 Inside Information (3:48)

2-12B [2:33-5:18] "Smaug The Stupendous" (2:45) - a clean ending for this is available on the Standard OST

Sorry, haven't gone through that one yet. Hopefully a DVD Screener leaks soon. Otherwise I'll just wait for the Blu Ray.

From what I remember (there are most likely a few mistakes):

You forgot Dragon Sickness :)

22. Ravenhill

23. To The Death

24. The Return Journey

25. There And Back Again

26. The Last Goodbye

27. Ironfoot. [05:00-End]

Thats not even counting the tracked music
and some of those tracks are still randomly reordered

Darkest Hour's split is probably closer to 0:00-3:30-End

but thats more a question for your music restoring thread

and yeah its that part of Sons of Durin

but honestly, it could be tracked music that was taken from the now deleted Warg chase scene

besides it still plays right before the rest of Sons of Durin, so I dont see a need to make a separate mention of it in the list

(otherwise tracks like Guardians of Three and Fallen would be all over the list)

How about Danny Elfman's MISSION IMPOSSIBLE?

Let's see:

1-2-3-4-6-9-8-7-11-12-13-14-10-15-16-17-18

I'm not sure at this moment (I don't have the CD with me here) where to fit in track 5 - Love theme? I would guess either between 7 and 11, or between 10 and 15 (Or perhaps 9 and 8). Hope this helps.

Don't know if that one has been verified (too many posts and pages ;) ), so here is the final order: 1-2-3-4-6-9-8-7-11-12-13-14-10-5-15-16-17-18.

Sorry for the bump but I'm trying to save this as a document (excel file or I don't know what else).

I'm searching on the internet but I don't understand how to do it..

https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AjiRtgP4_o4TcGN3RzM1dTJHbzJVMEdDUUxERkNLUEE&gid=0

Is there an original excel file of this?

Yes, I found it at FMS forum where you had posted it.

We had a discussion at facebook about the temple of doom soundtrack in the box, and someone said it's complete and I used it to show that it's not!

It was very handy, thanks! ;)

you can just copy/paste that in an Excel sheet.

I'm not sure this is easy, but I'll try.

edit: yeah, it's not easy at all.

It appears all messed up.

Anyway, i printed to pdf, film by film.

it's not the same, but at least it keeps the format.

Far and Away, adapted from Ricard's list:

I have just made my own edit on the basis of Ricard's. There are still a few edits to be made, primarily because the sound quality on the OST is much better than on the Volume 2 bootleg.

Here is the final track list:

01 County Galway, June 1892 2.00

02 The Fighting Donellys 2.20

03 Joe Sr's Passing (Alternate) 1.48 [edit of OST T3 0.00-1.46]

04 Burning the Donellys' House 1.53

05 Leaving Home 1.59

06 Mr Christie's Mansion 1.35

07 Joseph Sees Shannon 1.04

08 Shannon Climbs into the Window (Unused) 1.49

09 The Duel Scene 2.59 [OST T3 1.46-end (if you want, there's clean opening to be found on VOL 2 T13 (which is mislabelled))]

10 My Destiny 1.10

11 Burning the Manor House 2.47

12 Am I Beautiful? (Unused) 3.41

13 Blowing Off Steam 1.34

14 Fighting for Dough 2.05

15 Warning to Joseph 1.13

16 Shannon Thrown in the Tub (Unused) 1.36

17 The Big Match [edit of Vol 2 (opening-0.34) + OST] 6.33

18 Joseph and Shannon Thrown Out 3.36

19 Inside the Mansion 4.27

20 Shannon Is Shot 4.09

21 Memories of Shannon 1.10

22 Joseph's Dream 3.12

23 Shannon in Oklahoma 0.32

24 The Reunion 3.54

25 Oklahoma Territory 2.15

26 The Land Race (Alternate) 5.00 [OST]

27 The Race to the River [OST T16 2:21-end]

28 Settling with Steven [edit: OST T16 0:00-2:04 + 50 seconds that can be found on VOL 2, I don't have the exact times anymore but it's on the Land Rush tracks.]

29 Joseph and Shannon 3.21

30 End Credits 6.39

Bonus tracks

31 Book of Days (Enya) 2.55

32 Joe Sr's Passing (Film Version) 1.33 [VOL 2]

33 The Land Race (Film Version) 4.47 [VOL 2 T 16, 0.00-4.43]

34 End Credits - Rehearsal 8.16

Okay, I'm reaching back into history with this one as I've been meaning to do it for years but I'm trying to edit this one together in 320kbps because the one I have is only 128kbps.

Anyway I'm trying to work out what the difference is between the OST version of The Big Match (Track 9) and the Vol 2 version (Track 10), apart from the obvious extra 36 seconds at the start of the Vol 2 version. Looking at them together in Audacity they appear near identical. Are there any "experts" out there who can answer this for me? Cheers.

Why would there be a difference?

Because according to the Complete Cue List here....

http://www.jwfan.com/?p=2899

and, according to your own post here...

http://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5544&p=568666

.....the first 34-37 seconds of the Vol 2 track with the OST version need to be edited together so I'm wondering why you need to replace the entire Vol 2 track with the OST track? Is it because of a difference in sound quality? Am I missing something that you and others have heard in the OST track that NOT in the V2 version?

I'm just trying to understand why it's been written to replace most of the V2 track with the OST.

Just for completeness regarding the additional music for "Settling With Steven" it can be found on Vol 2, Track 16 "The Land Race (complete final version)" at 8:27-9:27 min marks. It can also be found in the other "Land Race" track on Vol 2 as well however the timings would be different due to it being a shorter track.

P.S. After adding the extra music from "The Land Race (complete final version)" with "Settling With Steven" I decided to include Track 29 (Joseph and Shannon) making it into a single track. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a clean edit between the Vol 2 insert and "Joseph and Shannon" so I settled with a slightly longer version of the Vol 2 insert (at about 1 min 13 secs, instead of 1 min) and trimmed "Joseph and Shannon" to match. It worked so much better that way.

Don't know if that one has been verified (too many posts and pages ;) ), so here is the final order: 1-2-3-4-6-9-8-7-11-12-13-14-10-5-15-16-17-18.

Yes, this is the chronological track list:

Mission: Impossible

Sleeping Beauty

Mission: Impossible Theme

Red Handed

Big Trouble

Mole Hunt

Looking for "Job"

Max Found

The Disc

The Heist

Uh-Oh!

Biblical Revelation

Phone Home

Betrayal

Love Theme?

Train Time

Ménage à Trois

Zoom A / Zoom B

Notes:

- "The Heist" and "Zoom B" can be edited to include extended material found on the soundtrack album.

- You can add Mullen and Clayton's "Theme from Mission: Impossible" to close off the playlist if you want.

Isn't it so weird that Elfman microedited out stuff for the score album that had already come out on the song OST?

Quite. He rather overdoes the micro-editing at times. I wish he hadn't micro-edited "Red Handed"; there's a terrific segment missing.

The Fall of the Roman Empire

Here's how you can put the LLL Records CD in order. This sequencing is also in the booklet, but my list takes into account which cues flow into the next on the CD, and there are one or two edits you can make.

Fanfares and Flourishes

Overture

Aurelius Awaits Dawn / Arrival of Livius / Lucilla and Livius

Pax Romana

Dawn of Love

The Signal to March

Barbarian Ambush 1 & 2

Lucilla's Sorrow

Profundo

Passing the Torch

The Roman Forum / Triumph and End of Part 1

The Fall of Love Intermission

Notturno

Ballomar's Barbarian Attack *

Addio

Morning / The Prophecy **

Persian Battle

Resurrection

Tarantella

Commodus Deified

The Fall of Rome

The Fall of Love (Album Version)

* You can edit the two "Ballomar's Barbarian Attack" tracks into one: use the first half of "Ballomar's Barbarian Attack" and mix into "Ballomar's Barbarian Attack - Part 2". Reason is track 5 on the CD appears to be an album edit, containing the middle section of part 1 and the second half of part 2. So if you'd use both tracks entirely, you'd end up with a minute of the same music.

** "Morning" and "The Prophecy" are separate tracks on the LLL, but they're put together on the Tadlow rerecording, so I mirrored that in my edit.

Thought I would contribute the chronological order for Tangerine Dream's Thief, based on the Perseverance CD:

3. Diamond Diary

4. Burning Bar

6. Scrap Yard

5. Beach Scene

2. Dr. Destructo

9. Confrontation (the film used a version performed by Craig Safan)

Unused:

1. Beach Theme

8. Igneous

7. Trap Feeling

Can someone please put Avengers: Age Of Ultron soundtrack in chronological order?

Thanks in return

:)

After two viewings, here's what I've got for the film order of the album. This is by no means definitive, and please add any suggestions or changes you see fit. Many of the album tracks never seem to appear in their entirety in the film, while others seem to be absent. This made the whole endeavor incredibly frustrating, especially when so much of Tyler's material is so generic that it's difficult to find differences between tracks. Some of the tracks not heard in the film still have track titles pointing to their sequential placement, so I've added them in with an * by the title. Anyway, here ya go:

1. It Begins

2. Avengers: Age of Ultron Title

3. Birth of Ultron

4. Ultron Wakes

5. Ultron-Twins*

6. The Vault

7. Hulkbuster

8. The Farm*

9. Farmhouse*

10. Darkest of Intentions

11. Seoul Searching

12. Can You Stop This Thing?

13. Vision

14. The Mission

15. Wish You Were Here

16. The Battle

17. Outlook

18. Fighting Back

19. Rise Together*

20. Sacrifice

21. The Last One

22. Nothing Lasts Forever

23. New Avengers - Avengers: Age of Ultron

Tracks I didn't hear:

- Inevitability-One Good Eye (The "Inevitability" parts makes it seem like it would go with Ultron speaking as the town starts to rise, but the "Eye" title sounds like something for Nick fury, who isn't seen close to that same time.)

- Breaking and Entering

- Keys to the Past

- Uprising

- Heroes (seems to be a generic suite arrangement of Elfman's ideas for editors to pick and choose from for different scenes)

Anybody know how to put LLL's 3:10 to Yuma in order? Or has there been a complete bootleg or cue list available?

Only took a quick look at them, and I think not.

I spotted that at the FSM board myself as well, but it doesn't take into account the joined cues I believe.

That DeputyRiley guy seems to have the sessions which would answer all these questions, but I don't think they've leaked

Thanks for that.

"Thief" is now out on Blu-ray with an iso score, so I'll get that asap. I have the Virgin release, so I'll look-out for the Perseverance CD.

If I remember rightly, wasn't "Igneous" a re-working of "Through Metamorphic Rocks" from the "Force Majure" album?
