I have the 2-disc set and it has both the 20th Anniv. and original versions. The original is on the extras disc.

John- who has been meaning to watch the movie with the live score track for a while.

John 2- loving Lotman's new sig.  ;)

Watch it soon - it's amazing. :baaa: I sincerely hope that concept is repeated the next time a major SW anniversary rolls around!

IS there any other movie this year you particulaly think does deserve to? Neither The Passion nor Spiderman 2 deserve it either.

I disagree wholeheartedly.

Both of those are FAR superior to Shrek 2. As are many movies.

If you'll read the post you quoted, I mentioned that none of those movie, including Shrek, desrve to be there.

I read your post correctly.

I meant that Spiderman 2 and Passion of the Christ are far superior to the Shrek films and do deserve that kind of money IMO. 8O

They deserve that kind of money? They are in your opinion among the top 10 greatest films ever?

Spiderman 2 was really great the first time I saw it, the second it was so unremarkable. Better than the first, but not saying much. And I can't really comment about the Passion without getting into the religious discussion, suffice to say I thought it was an ok movie with good intentions, that was too concerned about causing a contreversy to realize that it wasn't saying what Gibson has been saying and promoting the rest of his career. Oh, and the cinematography was great and the music was ok, if suffering from Debney's chronic lack of originality.

No, Horner's lack of originality lies in that he copies himself endlessly. Debney's lack of originality is not that he repeats himself, it's that he really has nothing to repeat. He takes someone elses style, and applies it to the movie. It's almost as if he sits around thinking "who's be the perfect composer for this movie?" and uses that. There's nothing unique about him, aside from being able to do it so well.
