John Crichton 4
Out of all the different versions of the SW OT that have been released, which do you prefer?Mine is the SEs, as they are what got me into Williams in the first place. And they're the definition of how to put a score onto an album, sound quality issues aside. And I'm sorry if I missed your favorite, I'm sure I don't know about all of them. Don't waste time complaining about it, that's what the "Other" option is for.
Eplicon 23
Star Wars: the SE version (the segue between the launch of the X-Wings right into the Death Star attack run kicks ass every time!)The Empire Strikes Back: original 2-LP configuration (this has always been my favorite version of the soundtrack since day one, missing music and all)Return of the Jedi: Anthology (I like how they the two versions of the funeral pyre music in alternate tracks rather than combinating it)
Marian Schedenig 5,520
If the Gerhardts are on the list, the horribly underrated Skywalker Symphony album should be as well.I'll pick my favourites when we know more about the sound quality on the new Sonys.Marian -

Rogue_Leader 2
Special Editions. Debate about the sound quality all you want but in terms of music released those are THE DEFINITIVE CD RELEASES!
Mr. Breathmask 480
Well, I know only one release, but I think complete is the only way to go. So, the SEs.
Marian Schedenig 5,520
The only way to go is to have the complete scores and at least one recording of the suites.Marian -
pixie_twinkle 44
The SE 2-disk sets definitely. Followed by the anthology (mine is signed! )However, I WISH someone would release the original 2-record set of Empire on CD. It was the first Johnny record I ever got and I love all the edits! (Especially The Heroics of Luke and Han) I want it on CD for old times sake.
Goldsmithfan 3
You know, no matter how advanced CD's get, there will always be something special about putting on a record. Golly gee, Wally! How dumb do I sound now?
diskobolus 3
Seeing as the only release I own are the 1997 SE's.... I will buy this upcoming rerelease if the sound quality is deemed much improved, though.
