John Crichton 4
The DotF topic got me curious, as this seems to be the most popular new theme from the prequels so far. Hopefully this poll hasn't been done before. If it has, let it swim with the fishes. My vote is easy: the unused Great Duel cue from TPM. Incredibly powerful, and a travesty it was cut out. Incredibly powerful, and a travesty it was cut out. What's this "unused Great Duel cue"? Do you mean the entire sequence of unreleased music that was replaced by the concert version? Judging from the brief snippet of this which can be heard during the music featurette on the DVD, that could very well be my favourite.Marian -
John Crichton 4
Yes, it is the cue featured on the DVD. It was available complete (I think) and SFX-free from one of the Ep. I video games.

King Mark 2,924
I like when it's mixed with the dorce theme in The Tide Turns.I'd like a slow sweeping version of it in RotS K.M.
Chris ChrusherComix 27
The unused Great Duel cue(s) from TPM. The Great Duel and the other unused alternate that wasn't used (that I believe was the original version of "The Duel Continues" tracked with the concert version, or something close).Agreed. Incredibly powerful, and a travesty that both of these were cut out. Edit: At the time these edits seemed bad, but it was only a sign of worse things coming in E2. So all I know is the orchestral DOTF from Episode 1 Racer, but that doesn't seem to be much more than a looped choir-less version of the same stuff that's in the concert suite. I always expected the full duel to be much more dynamic, and grander.Marian - :? The Secret of N.I.M.H. (Jerry Goldsmith)
MrScratch 292
I like the statement in "The Sith Spacecraft and The Droid Battle". That piece always reminded me of "Into The Trap" from ROTJ, and the use of DOTF in "Sith Spacecraft" is similar to the use of the Imperial March in "Into the Trap".Jeff

pete 520
Don't forget the Concert Instrumental version. powerful stuff!Hope When Johnny is done with Sith he records a prequel trilogy CD.DOFT Istrumental, Flag Parade Concert version, and Qui Gon's Theme.A 5-7 minute concertised Chase Through Coruscant would be great, and a concertised Clone Army piece,I'm dreaming I know! but its a nice dream
Chris ChrusherComix 27
The Racer loop is a completely unused choirless loop, and it's pretty cool, but it's not the powerful and versions we're speaking of. There are two unused versions that are completely magnificent, and they were meant to be placed ove the duels. The odd thin is that these magnificent unused versions FIT THE DUEL SCENES! They were editied out for no reason other than Lucas/Ttrub didn't like them there. It was the beginning of a long line of bad editing decisions that only got worse in Episode II.All of our homemade boots use that choirless loop as a bonus souce cue, because it has no real placement in the movie. It's quite obvious that Williams went and recorded a ton of revisions and possibly source cues because with all of the bootlegged material, the album material, AND the film/Ultimate Edition material, there is far more music than scenes in the movie, including obvious alternates for duel scenes and spacecraft battles. Then again, according to that interview, one must remember that Williams scored the first edit of the film, went make and made a second, condensed version to the second edit, and the third edit wound up being a mish-mash edit. The UE, although having great sound quality doesn't use the best renditions of the DOTF theme, and it uses the concert version and some SLIGHTLY modified cuts that sound alot like the concert version wirth only minor differences that can be barely heard on the UE.Marian, I'd recommend that someone send you some of our fan-edits. I recommend, EJ's, Takis', mine, KM's (although I've only heard that one once when he was here)... all versions are excellent, and proof that the people editing the movies either don't understand Williams' music enough to edit it, or they have a problem with the music being there.-ChrisPS- PETE! Haven't seen your posts in awhile! I might as well announce it here to my friends here because my regular email account is close to dead (and barely on life support only because Im too lazy to change ISPs)... but I got good news...
