AC1 3,565
That's because you only care about the Oscars, Joe. The LAFCA have been around for many years, with the first one being held in 1975. It's pretty major. I mean, just because YOU haven't heard of it doesn't mean that it's some obscure little award. Of course, just like the New York Film Critics Award, it's an award given by movie critics. It's more of an artistic recognition reward than it is a popular or financial one (and they don't put up a show). However, it can be a indication of what to expect at the next Oscar Ceremony.----------------Alex Cremers
JoeinAR 1,759
Not True Alex, I've heard of the LA film critics awards, I've never heard of the film you mentioned, which means its not important....too me, until I know what the film is or about. AC1 3,565
This is the movie I look forward to the most. I mentioned the trailer a while ago, but no one reacted, not even a cold .----------------Alex Cremers
JoeinAR 1,759
AH Sideways, a wine tasting road trip to salute Jack's (Thomas Haden Church) final days as a bachelor careens woefully sideways as he and Miles (Paul Giamatti) hit the gas en route to mid-life crises. The comically mismatched pair, who share little more than their history and a heady blend of failed potential and fading youth, soon find themselves drowning in wine and women (Sandra Oh and Virginia Madsen). Emerging from a haze of pinot noir, wistful yearnings and trepidation about the future, the two inevitably collide with reality.
AC1 3,565
Yes, Joe, in other words, a story about people and without CGI or any other rollercoaster effects - not a movie for the short-attention-spanners. Every now and then these films do get to see the light of day, and THAT makes me keep "hanging in there".----------------Alex Cremers
