Dean1700 4
There's now less than 500 copies remaining of Varese's 2CD The Great Escape. If you want a copy you will need to get in very soon. What are Varese like to deal with? Are they any good?

SeekUYoda 0
I ordered the River and got a Bobby Darin CD... once I called them, though, they quickly sent me the correct CD and let me keep the Bobby Darin one too. My CDs came quickly though!

My CDs came quickly though!Well, you paid for 1 CD and you got 2 CDs, althought I bet it wasn't a good surprise to open the package and find another CD...Mirko - who have no idea who this Bobby Darin is. pixie_twinkle 44
You need to watch Beyond the Sea with Kevin Spacey in that case...As for Varese I've always found them to be trustworthy. The CDs have always arrived quickly and more to the point have always been lovingly put together. These people really respect film music and its fans. I'm sure you'll be more than happy with the CD. Miguel Andrade 964
Since my home Alone 2 order, that I don't get anything from them. The order got lost somewhere, I'm no doubt, but when I reached them, several times, they didn't even replied to me. I never asked them for a new shippment, I just asked if they could check with US mail services, if there was some unclaimed lost package or something.Prior to that, I had already run into problems with my The Fury order... This was processing for over two weeks, by that time everyone already had their copies. I found curious that the status changed to shipping in the same day I e-amiled them. Again, never got a reply. If you're in europe you may ratehr work with their European representative: http://www.colosseum.de/index.htm
woodwindmaster06 0
Varese Sarabande is a wonderful place, I ordered a lot of 7 cds over christmas break and they were shipped out the very first day of reopenning. All of their cds are incredible releases, and I have no complaints whatsoever with them, (except for the SACD Timeline and GTR fiasco) but this is the greatest company in the business hands down!!! Morlock 9
Hey Neil, is The Great Escape Deluxe worth getting if you already have the the RYKO CD?I've always been willing to put up with the brevity of the CD, the mono sound and the dialogue. Yes, yes, a thousand times YES! The deluxe set is VASTLY superior in EVERY way. I didn't think I needed a second Great Escape either, but since I've gotten it, the score has become one of my favorites. The sound is amazing, the performances are better, the orchestra is twice as big..... hearing 'The Chase' on this album is one of the greatest moments I've experienced as a film music fan. After getting used to the Varese/Ryko album, that track is just so powerful, so crisp, so perfect in the new set. I heartily recommend this set to all film music fans.
