hoby12 0
Found some mistakes in the movies (as compared to the soundtrack)JAWSRight after the first barrel goes under....Clarinet line states the fanfare ish motif as a eighth - eight pattern (movie) rather then the dotted eighth - sixteenth pattern (soundtrack). RETURN OF THE KINGDuring the Lighting of the Beacons:The Climax of the huge string part and brass parton my dvd 48:34is a different chord then the soundtrack (trumpet fanfare may be a bit different)RETURN OF THE JEDI (Old news)Extra grace notes on the high trumpet during the main title crawl - not on any other star wars soundtrack or film.Ok sorry for nitpicking
Marian Schedenig 8,172
Why are they mistakes? I'm pretty sure the movie Lighting of the Beacons is a quite different orchestration than the album version to begin with.Marian - who kinda prefers the album version, but wants both on CD. Olivier 5
Those are not mistakes, just different arrangements, for all kinds of posible reasons-- flows better on CD, an extra second or two added in the movie, "better do it that way here regardless or other uses of the theme", let's please the director, I prefer it this way on the CD, ... Marian Schedenig 8,172
Yeah defend Shore. You know you just said John Williams makes silly mistakes.I didn't. I just never noticed those two Williams bits mentioned above, so I can't speak about those. Yet I always noticed the Beacon music sounding entirely different in the movie.Marian - who wouldn't hesitate to defend Shore if he thought it to be the right thing.
