Lukas Kendall at Film Score Monthly has just announced that a box of Towering Inferno CDs were found and is thinking of ways to get them to "loving homes". He wants some feedback:

Are they talking about the FSM release ? Is this album out of print ?

Yes, they're talking about the FSM-release. And yes, this album is out of print.

I have to admit, it was a fine damn offer! I am really happy that Lukas did this for everybody. I wish Varese did an offer like that, or Intrada, every now and then to give some sort of incentive to bulk purchase!

I'd like that too. :joke:

The trouble with getting this CD now is that they are talking about purchasing $200 worth of other FSM cd's to get the Towering Inferno as a free gift. This is because they have closed off their royalty payments for this CD so they can no longer sell them.

It sounds like BS to me and not worth the trouble.

But the good thing about this, is that we're also getting 10 scores that we would've purchased eventually. Or at least, I would have. So there is nothing wrong with adding a little incentive.

BS or not, it's a great deal.

When was the last time you heard a soundtrack distributer touting off about giving a free cd with purchases?

Let alone an incredibly rare and OOP cd?

Kudos to FSM and Lukas.

Bulk likes incentives.

As does the ex-green cucumber fallic symbol turned Justin's breakfast.

I think it's a very unsympathetic deal, trying to sell old stock to Williams fans like that. I don't see why I should admire them, unless it is for their business insight. Two thumbs down!

I think it's a great deal. For American customers. If I should get a package of 11 CDs, I would pay the price almost double in customs. That's not very attractive. A real pity.
