Dean1700 4
Does anyone know why the music for the end credits of TPM and AoTC ends differently to the other four scores? I was listening to ROTS tonight, having just got it today, that I realised this score ends with the usual fanfare that Episodes 4-6 have. Any reason why the other two don't end this way? stewdog1 50
I don't know why. I attribute it to a creative decision, or even laziness. The AOTC end credits on the OST differ from what was in the movie. Namely the last few moments.
The Prick vs The DD 0
I don't know really. But that's why some time ago I decided to create the ultimate finale (or suite if you will) for AotC which includes the blowout we love so much.Still thinking of doing one for TPM. John Crichton 4
I believe it was a creative decision, showing the uncertain future and coming darkness in the story. I was really surprised that Episode III didn't end in a similar fashion, especially because according to the score reports it was supposed to. Dean1700 4
Granted it may be a creative decision but the uncertainty is there already without the removal of the fanfare. I also see this music as a much a part of the SW series are the opening titles. It's just not the same without it.
Mr. Breathmask 480
But the final fanfares in the OT were all different.
Damo 0
I don't know really...but it sounds cool though.
David Vincent 8
I don't know why, but a lot of John Williams recent works have an End Credits containing full cues of the soundtrack, like :- Mischief Managed containing Buckbeak's Flight, Double Trouble, the Knight Bus and Aunt Marge's Waltz.- Augie's Great Municipal Band and End Credits containing Duel of the Fates and Anakin's Theme.- AOTC end credits containing Across the Stars.- RotS containing Leia's Theme, Battle of the Heroes and The Throne Room.I think he usually doesn't know how long it has to last and he probably knows his themes will be mixed. So I guess John Williams sometimes writes a few minutes just for the beginning of the End Credits
Ray Barnsbury 8
The days of Williams writing original suites for end credits look to be over. The only recent scores that could be included in this are HP:SS if you count "Harry's Wondrous World" and/or "Hedwig's Theme," and the first few minutes of "Mischief Managed." He seemed to phase this practice out in the early to mid-nineties.Ray Barnsbury
Dean1700 4
But the final fanfares in the OT were all different.Yes, they were as they used the main leitmotifs from the scores. However SW, TESB, ROTJ AND ROTS all finish with a similar fanfare cue that is missing from TPM and AOTC.
Henry B 49
The fanfare cue from RotS is the same as the fanfare cue from RotJ... and that was written for a Star Wars concert suite.
