Funniest moment in ROTS

I wanna know what people think is the funniest moment in ROTS. Here are some of my nominations:

1. Yoda taking out Palpatine's guards with a cool force "flick"

2. The way the thinbg Obi-Wan rode moved

3. The actor who is meant to look like Peter Cushing not getting any close-ups just in case

4. Jar-Jar getting about 2 seconds of screentime, and no lines

5. Mace being killed. Am I the only one who thought it was by far the worst scene in the film, and that the sight of him flying off into the distance was actually quite funny? Or am I a sadist?

That whole scene was a joke. Mace and Palpy arguing over who the bad guy is ("He's the bad guy! No, he is! Nuh-uh!!") to Palpy's absurd transformation into the 1983 Emperor.

Number one had the whole theatre laughing, and is Yoda's finest moment in the PT, imo. This is how I wanted him to be, not a green version of Sonic the Hedgehog. This was much cooler, and I didn't expect this at all.

ObiWan's cocky confidence was hilarious and welcome.

"Oh I don't THINK so."

Superbattledroid voices were also funny. In AOTC they were portrayed as these brutish evil robots, because you couldn't hear their voices. But then they sounded as harmless as the regular battledroids! LOL.

Yoda saying "Hurry" to Bail while crawling through the pipe was hilarious. He was really running for his life. Poor little Yoda.

I have laughed eery time I've seen R2 come barrelling out that door and banging into the wall while Obi-Wan and Anakin and Palps are trapped in the ray shields. It reminds me of R2 in A NEW HOPE, like when he gets shot by the Jawas - how come the silliness of that in ANH doesn't bug some people but the silliness of the that in ROTS does?

I have to say, I'm a bit mystified by people who feel compelled to tear a movie apart on message threads that seem to have been created to enthuse over a movie. I'm not trying to censor anybody - the truth is, I just ignore any posts by certain people because it's just not fun to read their vitriolic opinions. Not to get preachy, and apologies if I am doing so, but isn't this a FAN network? How much fun would it be for us to read posts by someone who's every post bashed on John Williams mercilessly? I know people have been very nice to me since I returned a few weeks ago, but it was honestly the negative posts that kept me away. And the irony is I enjoy PMing with many of the people who's post I just can't bring myself to read, so it's really nothing personal!

Anyway, I'm getting off my soapbox now and I sincerel apologize if I've offended, or even worse, BORED anyone. Just had to get that off my chest.

I laughed too hard at that moment. That was the campiest thing I've seen in a movie in a long, long time.

I agree with elvisjones2005 though. I thought the humor associated with R2 was great. Reminded me of the old trilogy too. Loved the part where he zaps the super battle droid and is kicked over in return.

I laughed at Sidious/Palpatine saying "No! NO! NOO!!!" and I laughed at Frankevader's walk and "Nooooooooooooooo!"

When R2 sprayed the droids with oil was funny. I stifled my laugh during the "NOOOOOOO!" It seemed like James Earl Jones didn't do that line, but some voiceover flunky at Lucasfilm was asked to scream it.

I wouldn't say Yoda's Force thing with the guards was so much funny as unexpected and odd-looking for someone I still think of as the older Yoda from "Empire."

Because this time, he was closer to the Yoda for Empire. In fact, Yoda has never been this great since 1980. His lines portrayed him as a wise and deep being ("be prepared to let go of what you fear to loose"), not a pedantic, redundant creature just thrown in there because he was in the previous movies (like it happened in Return of the Jedi, or Attack of the Clones).

I thought he was the best character from Revenge of the Sith, but that's just my favorite Star Wars character being himself.

I laughed when after Mace flies out the window Palpatine gives this sigh like "Aaaaahh" like he's just eaten a big meal. Me and my brother were laughing really hard at that.

Oh yeah and I laughed at all the trailers except Narnia. Sad and deplorable the state of the summer flick is these days...

I forgot, I laughed during the Dooku duel in the beginning. There is this quick reaction shot to Palpatine at one point (I think Obi Wan is running up the steps fighting droids) and it just comes out of nowhere and really takes away from the rhythm of the scene.

When a delegation greets Anakin after the spaceship crash at the beginning of the film,we see JarJar's eyes stick out from a back side view.I clearly heard "exqueese me".Not sure if it was him but who else would it be.

I didn't hear that. There was a scene with him scripted, though, but it was probably cut in editing. He only had two lines as a small cameo, but the entire scene was cut, as it was one of the scenes that dealt with an entire subplot removed from the film.

Had that scene remained, Jar Jar probably would still have been cut, since he didn't add anything to the scene anyway.

No. NO. NO! NO!!! I laughed for a long time at that. And at that point where Dooku and Anakin were fighting and they did that quick shot of Palpy and he was like, "Yea!" Omg. Duh. So funny. There were a lot of other things too.. I laughed at Yoda and Palpy fighting because it was so cool. I was shivering the whole time.

Arfour's head being sawed off by buzz droids.

Artoo trying to hide the comlink from the super battle droids.

Artoo melting the super battle droids.

Yoda smashing the guards.

Unintentional:

- Neimodian Captain: [anything] (What a laughably bad voice actor.)

- Palpatine: "No, no, NOOOO!!!"

- Anakin: "I will do whatever you... ask."

- Anakin: "I pledge myself to your teachings."

- Vader: "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

Some others in the audience laughed at various bad lines and cues, such as Beru abruptly taking Luke away from Obi-Wan. This movie could have done with a lot of fine tuning.

There were many enjoyable moments during the sequence on Greivous' ship. Some classic SW stuff, mostly with R2. I agree with EJ totally. There were big cheers for every Yoda action bit at my screening. #2 after taking down the guards was when he took out the clones that were coming after him on Kashyyyyyyyyyk.

The only line that got the dreaded unintentional laughter at my showing was Padme's infamous "You're breaking my heart!" from the trailers. Everyone knew it was coming too.

The funniest (intentional) part was Yoda and the guards. My whole theatre agreed. Unfortunately, my theatre was also full of people who apparently thought R2's slapstick antics were the most hilarious moment in cinema history.

I loved watching everything from the beginning to the landing on Coruscant. It was just so much fun. Finally some fun adventure back into Star Wars.

Too bad I missed that bit of Artoo hiding the comlink in the theatre. I saw it happening, but I didn't get it. I was like "where did it go now?" :?

I think that was shot from the wrong angle. It looked so ordinary and wasn't dynamic in anyway. Poor filmmaking.

That part was actually pretty scary. He knew it was all a set up and was watching it like a sporting event. Getting off on it just like he was in ROTJ.
