Dean1700 4
Listening to The Great Escape the other night brought this subject to my mind. What scores have there been where, for whatever reason scores, the master tapes have been lost for years upon years and thought lost forever, only to be found later.Does any one have a list of these types of scores? I only know of two at present. They being the recent Elmer Bernsteins The Great Escape (2CD) and Malcolm Arnolds rejected score of Battle of Britain. What other ones are there? Dole 11
I read that part of the Pinocchio score was lost and later found in the Disney vaults, but I'm not sure if that's true. Dole

Mr_K 6
Speaking of LFL and lost scores, didn't they lose the tapes for some of the source music from ROTJ from the Jabba's palace scene? Max Rebo stuff- totally not on any soundtrack release. Except that horrid Jedi Rocks and the latter Lapti Nek.Mr. K
David Vincent 8
I also heard about tapes of Superman lost as they were stored in a wrong package and discovered by Micheal Matessino.
Dean1700 4
I read something similar but I think I may have read that in the liner notes to the 2cd John Debney release of the Superman score. I'm sure it reads like the original masters have long been lost, and this was shortly before the Rhino release came out.Someone correct me if wrong

It had to be reconstructed based of off Williams's sketches. I'm not sure if it was ever found amongst all the pile of material found for the restoration of the film, when the original master tapes were found.Neil
