robthehand 3
In the film, the main titles are given the normal closing fade-out style, but on the OST they go straight into Williams unused opening section of "Boys Into Battle". Was this how it was composed, i.e. was it composed with no fade-out?And are the bass drums in the film tracked from somewhere else?
Mooz0r 23
No, that first track is edited quite a bit for the OST.
robthehand 3
So, in other words, there was some stuff deleted at 1:17 as well as all the other places?
Damo 0
i dunno When I saw the ROTS at the start after the main title has gone and goes into the space battle, straight away the music starts of with those big bass drums like a solo which is not on the original soundtrack (Track 1). I actually really like that part. I wish that was on the soundtrack.
robthehand 3
According to the chronological list, that was tracked, and not what was intended for the scene.
Elmo Lewis 6
I thought the drums that follow the main title were on the soundtrack, only at a later point in track 1. They were tracked after the main titles, apparently.

Jim Ware 428
The drums at the beginning of 1M4 - They're Coming Around are not the same as the drums immediately after the main title.
Damo 0
the drums immediately after the main title must be unreleased music. :roll:Even though i think its should be on the soundtrack because it sounds pretty cool.
Luke Skywalker 1,284
The drums at the beginning of 1M4 - They're Coming Around are not the same as the drums immediately after the main title.but the tempo and structure is the same no?Luke, who thinks it is a burrt arrangement of Williams' music
Jim Ware 428
Same tempo and 3/2 rhythm, yes.
Henry B 49
And the drums in "They're Coming Around" sound like a separately recorded overdub... it would be easy to put that recording after the main title, no?Cerrabore - who despises the film version of this
King Mark 2,924
Like I've said somewhere else,I think the drums after the main title are not music composed by Williams .Someone wanted those "cool drums" in that "kickass" trailer for RotS somewhere in the filmK.M. Luke Skywalker 1,284
Mark, the drum beats are composed by Williams, to be part of another cue. They may record them sepparately and ben burrt tracked them to the main titles. It is still tracking and butching, but at least it IS Williams music... (and thematically conected with the Space battle)
Mooz0r 23
A whole chunk of music from random places of Track 1 from the OST didn't make it into the film... The track , as heard in the film, contains a whole load of unreleased material ,probably originally composed for somewhere else..
John Crichton 4
A whole chunk of music from random places of Track 1 from the OST didn't make it into the film... The track , as heard in the film, contains a whole load of unreleased material ,probably originally composed for somewhere else..Well, the opening notes after the main title that were replaced by the drums were tracked into the Utapau sequence. Some of Greivous' theme was dialed out in the bridge scene. And the final part has been positively identified as The Elevator Sequence. So everything on Track 1 is originally from the Battle of Coruscant before the Dooku duel.
Henry B 49
Actually John, "The Elevator Scene" starts with Grievous's theme. Fifty seconds were omitted from the album.
