Anyone like Ed Starink's arrangments?

He was quite active in the 80's and early '90's I think arranging all kind of film music including John Williams. Ofcourse he made his own syntheziser albums, but instead of just directly copying the original orchestral score (which is done nowadays so much) he actually arranged themes in a unique way. His arrangment of the E.T. theme is fantastic. It brings out the melody even better then on the original soundtrack. Not saying I prefer his synths to Williams orchestra of course.

Any opinions?

I have one of those Ed Starink albums (Back To The Future- Great Sceince Fiction Film Themes Vol 2.)

[ironically I've never seen a volume one]

And actually, its one of my favorite of the "synth budget" sci fi cds. Mostly because of the use of guitars, it sounds pretty sweet, but then again I'm a guitar player and I love hearing movie themes played on electric guitar in a 'rock setting'. Guilty pleasure I suppose.

I hate how those CDs are misleading as they say its an orchestra, though at the bottom fo the CD it says arranged and produced by Ed Starink.

Anyway this CD has:

1. back to the future

2. star wars

3. the empire strikes back

4. return of the jedi

5. star trek

6. alien

7. e.t.

8. 2001

9. battlestar galactica

10. close encounters of the third kind

Its only a little bit over 30 minutes long, but it cost me, like, a dollar on amazon.
