I don't have any experience with these other devices.

But the iPod supports not only MP3's but the far superiour AAC format as well as Wave files.

Also iTunes is the easiest music program I've ever used.

I currently have 297 CD's on my iPod, a total of 4952 tracks.

You would expect it a nightmare to find that 1 cue you want to listen too, but I can locate it faster then when I browse you actual CD collection.

But Stefan; what is iTunes? Isn't that only for Macs?

And how many Gb is your iPod? I'm seriously thinking about getting one. Currently I use a 512 Mb mp3 player, but......... I need more storage space!!!!

Geez Roald, were have you been?

iTunes is a program that can be used on Windows PC's and Macs.

It's totally free and can be used to play CD's, convert them into various formats (AAC, MP3, Wav, Apple lossless and AIFF) and store then on your hard drive.

Also you organize your music collection on your hard disc or iPod, make compilations, playlists etc...etc.

Other features are Itunes music store were you can buy music (legally) and podcast, a form of Internet Radio.

Ypu can get info here:

As for my iPod, I have a 40 GB iPod and currectly have 15 GB free space left.

iPods come in several sizes, you could get an iPod mini (4 or 6 BG) or an Shuffle iPod( 500 MB or i GB), but then you might as well put on a dress and blonde wig and take on a womens name.

Get either the 40 or 60 GB, if you are a real man.

The extra 20 GB is great, but i'm pretty sure the color screen uses more battery power and memory.

Plus it can store pictures...which I consider...well...silly.

Stefancos- who's sure the next generation of iPods will have digital camera's build into them.

I own a 40GB iPod. Couldn't live without it anymore. One of the Great Inventions.

But the question of this thread still stands...
