robthehand 3
On the E.T. DVD, what *exactly* is the so-called "isolated music score"? I was aware that it wasn't an isolated score in the normal sense when I bought it - but can someone tell me exactly what it is?
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,251
It's a recording of a life performance of the entire E.T. score during a special 20th Anniversary showing of the film. The recording matches all the timings of the film, but also have audience and other unwanted noise. King Mark 2,924
For the true unreleased score you'd need the Lazerdisk, and a working Lazerdisk player,if they still exist. There is about 4 cues still unreleasedInto the CornfieldStuffed AnimalsEllot's KissE.T. is DyingK.M. Luke Skywalker 1,284
There aren't too many unreleased cues though are there? Its the 'alternate' live recording what we want. We all have the original score...Including Universal logo + ET theme Williams performance (i prefer the non-live though)

Lurker 5
It would have been impossible to release the re-recorded score isolated without dialgoue and effects since it was recorded live with the dialogue and effects playing. The only possible way we could have gotten this isolated is if a rehearsal had been recorded, and that's only if the dialogue and effects weren't present there either.Neil
