David Coscina 3
Just wanted to let everyone know that this incredibly moody and subtle score is available for download on iTunes (even the Canadian site which usually doesn't get half of the good stuff that the U.S. site gets). Not sure why they would have chosen this particular score save for the fact that it is so bloody amazing. ANy Herrmann fans are strongly advised to pick this one up.
deimos 0
I haven't seen the movie so I didn't bother with the score. Is it any good? (the movie I mean). I haven't heard much from Roque Baños, just La Comunidad and Crimen Ferpecto, and not on CD but on the movie itself, and it was OK with some great moments. Crimer Ferpecto has just been released in the States as El Crimen Perfecto.
scissorhands 16
Roque Baños is indeed one of the best and most effective composers nowadays. Everyone should just take a look at the following titles:-Carreteras Secundarias-Buñuel y la Mesa del Rey Salomón (pretty ethnic, but with a beautiful adagio in the middle)-Salomé (ethnic too -as always when he works with the great Carlos Saura)-Crimen Ferpecto (even more Herrmannesque than The Machinist)-El Corazón del Guerrero (outstanding epic music)-La Comunidad (funny dark comedy)-Goya en Burdeos (probably his best work, in my opinion)
deimos 0
I'll give them a try, specially cause it's been a long time since I saw most of those movies, and it'll be a good revival.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,251
Roque Baños is indeed one of the best and most effective composers nowadays. Is he better then Ilayaraja?

Morlock 9
The first listen didn't grab me like I hoped to. It sure is moody, and it sure is Herrmanny.
