That was my alternate actually, but seemed to obvious.

I'm surprised by the number of soloists he's got on this one- Perlman (violin), Ma (cello), Yoshizawa (Shakahuchi), Ishigure (Koto), Karen Han (Erhu) and Steve Erdody (cello).

No matter the outcome of the film, the soundtrack will be the best part of it.

I am leaning towards agreeing with this prediction.....this score sounds like it's going to be a small, unique and fantastic effort. I mean, how often do you have (as Dan "soundtrack.net" Goldwasser said) a big orchestra cue rewritten at the last minute, that ends up being a very intimate piece with 2 cellists and a harp player? This is going to be one special score. And we already no that it's not going to be just atmospheric, as it supposedly has an 'exquisite' theme. I can't wait.

I think that it will be a great score, which I have said from the beginning. I just realized Williams has indeed 6 soloists on this score with Ma, Perlman, Erdody (whose playing in Angela's Ashes I liked very much) and Yoshizawa (Shakahuchi), Ishigure (Koto), Karen Han (Erhu). That promises something different and wondeful (I hope). Ma and Perlman are my favorite soloists and both play with so much soul and power of expression it is amazing (the recent Yo Yo Ma plays Ennio Morricone was phenomenal and highly emtional. I am not the greatest friend of Morricone's music but Ma added his gifts to the music and it was pure magic).

My anticipation for this score is growing daily! I wish it was the 22nd of November already!

Kinda reminds of an episode of Drew Carrey. He had a pair of slacks and everytime he sat down the front would bunch up like an erection, it was a running joke thru the entire episode.

It just occured to me. This wasn't recorded with the LSO?

How often has he not used the LSO?

Actually, most of his scores haven't been recorded by the LSO,but by a freelance orchestra in L.A.

Nah, I just find it ridiculous that this is a second thread of mine which gets locked down.

The first one, "Would you like John Williams to score a porno movie?" OK; I can understand it's eventual "melt-down". But my Patrick Doyle thread?! Ridiculous. It seems that you can keep a thread alive here when you repeat after me: "I-am-looking-forward-to-Goblet-of-Fire---I-am-looking-forward-to-Goblet-of-Fire---

I-am-looking-forward-to-Goblet-of-Fire---" (robotic voice prefered).

Don't ever say you want it to be bad, because you're afraid it will take away something from Williams' scores. Yes, I feel that way! I'm sorry OK; I'm just being honest. Can I help it?

Isn't a messageboard a place where we discuss VARIOUS viewpoints concerning a variety of topics. Yes; some loved ROTS even before it came out and some HATED it. So what?

RULE #1

01 - Personal attacks or offensive language will not be allowed. Please be RESPECTFUL of one another, allow for differences in opinions, and please don't make anyone feel that they cannot post their views in this forum.

I just ventilated a difference of opinion. Nothing wrong with that. And yes; I do feel I cannot post my views in this forum.

And I would never even think of saying something about Doyle in the lines of what you said. People who are familiar with my posts will know that.

Oh, and Neil already PM'd me his reasons for the lock down and it was not that.

Well then you have your answer.

I thought the thread was really silly. Hoping a score will fail just because it was not done by Williams.

Doyle is really being badmouthed here by the Potter fans. I think even Don Davis got less crap trown at him when he was announced for JP3.

I think it's a very silly and inmature side of our MB, and i'd rather specutale about a bulge in John Williams pocket.

Silly and inmature are so subjective here!!

I hate this "Holier than thou" attitude. Sorry. If I would mark all the threads I would consider silly or inmature I would be busy for a week! I mean; threads about Megalon the Freak Shark (whatever), John Williams penis in his pants, etc. What do you call those then? Do they all need to be locked down?

I don't know why we're talking about JW's crotch anyway? Or even looking at his crotch for that matter! What have we reduced ourselves to on this board? Perverts?

I think you are totally in the right, but don't make the mistke of thinking it's all the Potter fans. I don't think the select few who want GoF to suck are even Potter fans. I am, and I am greatly anticipating the score.

And Roald, if you've recieved a PM from Neil, why aren't you talking in private with him instead of complaining to everyone; it's very annoying.

Oh geez, looks like I missed a lot...

This is all harmless fun, as opposed to the potentially harmful content of the "other thread". This is all a joke, in fun. We're more likely to offend others in that "other thread" than this one.

So, where were we... Ah yes, the nether regions of Mr Maestro.
