Morlock 9
I'm surprised by the number of soloists he's got on this one- Perlman (violin), Ma (cello), Yoshizawa (Shakahuchi), Ishigure (Koto), Karen Han (Erhu) and Steve Erdody (cello). No matter the outcome of the film, the soundtrack will be the best part of it. I am leaning towards agreeing with this prediction.....this score sounds like it's going to be a small, unique and fantastic effort. I mean, how often do you have (as Dan "soundtrack.net" Goldwasser said) a big orchestra cue rewritten at the last minute, that ends up being a very intimate piece with 2 cellists and a harp player? This is going to be one special score. And we already no that it's not going to be just atmospheric, as it supposedly has an 'exquisite' theme. I can't wait. Incanus 5,519
I think that it will be a great score, which I have said from the beginning. I just realized Williams has indeed 6 soloists on this score with Ma, Perlman, Erdody (whose playing in Angela's Ashes I liked very much) and Yoshizawa (Shakahuchi), Ishigure (Koto), Karen Han (Erhu). That promises something different and wondeful (I hope). Ma and Perlman are my favorite soloists and both play with so much soul and power of expression it is amazing (the recent Yo Yo Ma plays Ennio Morricone was phenomenal and highly emtional. I am not the greatest friend of Morricone's music but Ma added his gifts to the music and it was pure magic). My anticipation for this score is growing daily! I wish it was the 22nd of November already!
Ollie 859
Kinda reminds of an episode of Drew Carrey. Sandor 459
Nah, I just find it ridiculous that this is a second thread of mine which gets locked down. The first one, "Would you like John Williams to score a porno movie?" OK; I can understand it's eventual "melt-down". But my Patrick Doyle thread?! Ridiculous. It seems that you can keep a thread alive here when you repeat after me: "I-am-looking-forward-to-Goblet-of-Fire---I-am-looking-forward-to-Goblet-of-Fire---I-am-looking-forward-to-Goblet-of-Fire---" (robotic voice prefered).Don't ever say you want it to be bad, because you're afraid it will take away something from Williams' scores. Yes, I feel that way! I'm sorry OK; I'm just being honest. Can I help it? Isn't a messageboard a place where we discuss VARIOUS viewpoints concerning a variety of topics. Yes; some loved ROTS even before it came out and some HATED it. So what?
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,251
I'm sure Neil wanted to end it before some one here says that he hopes Patrick Doyle dies of Aids so John Williams can replace him at the 11th hour.

Sandor 459
RULE #101 - Personal attacks or offensive language will not be allowed. Please be RESPECTFUL of one another, allow for differences in opinions, and please don't make anyone feel that they cannot post their views in this forum.I just ventilated a difference of opinion. Nothing wrong with that. And yes; I do feel I cannot post my views in this forum. And I would never even think of saying something about Doyle in the lines of what you said. People who are familiar with my posts will know that. Oh, and Neil already PM'd me his reasons for the lock down and it was not that.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,251
Well then you have your answer.I thought the thread was really silly. Hoping a score will fail just because it was not done by Williams. Doyle is really being badmouthed here by the Potter fans. I think even Don Davis got less crap trown at him when he was announced for JP3.I think it's a very silly and inmature side of our MB, and i'd rather specutale about a bulge in John Williams pocket. Sandor 459
Silly and inmature are so subjective here!! I hate this "Holier than thou" attitude. Sorry. If I would mark all the threads I would consider silly or inmature I would be busy for a week!
