Snowster 4
War of the Worlds. It was the first JW scrore , which I really didn't 'buy' after the first listening. I was more like 'whaaat?'. Of course I was sick and had high fever at the time of my first listen. I now see it as a masterpiece musically, but still don't except it to please the masses as a listening experience.-Snowster
nightscape94 965
Honestly, Minority Report took a looooooong time to get into. Sean's theme throughout the score is great, and "New Beginning" is fantastic at the end, but the score was difficult for me. And that's saying a lot, because I'm heavily into complex time signatures and rhythms and orchestrations (and yet my poor Prog Rock thread goes unloved ). I had to put head phones on and literally go to bed with it several times. I fell asleep listening to it intimately. I wanted to take every note in. It paid off because I love the score now.Tim

Marian Schedenig 5,520
Marian - who actually got ill a few days after he bought it.Because you hated it so much? You could not stomach it?It really was too abstract for me back then. Didn't help that I got Alien at the same time, though I started liking that by the time I began to feel better again.Marian - who had also bought Fierce Creatures which helped getting well quickly.
