Gregson-Williams hardly confounds expectations here. Has the typical Media Ventures "pop overlay" that Kirk Honeycutt gets off to but will likely irritate those who'd've preferred a less anachronistic and perhaps more Poledourisian touch. As with Kingdom of Heaven, expect the gentler, more placid cues (e.g., "From Western Woods to Beaversdam") to be the most satisfying.

I'm not too impressed with what I've heard so far. The only tracks that really caught my attention were The Wardrobe and The White Witch. Granted they are only samples and perhaps it will grow on me after seeing the film itself, but I was hoping for something a bit more.

Sounds very promising. HGW has done a fine job judging by the clips. Only thing that bothered me were those MV sounding (meaning synthsized) drums on some tracks. That I guess is the legacy of working with Zimmer. There wasalso a little "MV power anthem" feel in the main heroic theme.

I like what I'm hearing so far. I may get this, but not straight away when it comes out.

- Marc, who finally ordered Home Alone 2 instead.

Good for you. There is nothing that cheers you up before Christmas like a Christmas score by Maestro  (well except FOTR complete score but lets not get into that any deeper on this thread :) )

Track two sounds tooo POP for a 1940 setting.

I havent heard half the cues becasue the page has problems on my PC.

But i dont like the idea of 4 songs after all....

If it is similat to Kingdom of heaven, it will not be bad, but its difficult to say with so little material.

There is a Collector's Edition Soundtrack released in conjuction with the regular one and that contains 10 extra minutes of score (according to Play.com atleast).

Dan Goldwasser posted at FSM last week saying that plans had changed, and the Special Edition would no longer have extra score.

ttbk, who doesn't really like what he's hearing....

I know there are just samples but I really don't like the MV sound on that. I'm a bit angry about the lack of epic feeling in this. I had much higher expectations. I mean, it is so ...boring ?!? I've to add that I was also dissapointed from "kingdom".

Well, I'm sure it'll fit in the movie and work for kids.

Damnation. But if the score reveals to be a bad one perhaps more score would have not been so good thing

I really liked Kingdom of Heaven, Sinbad and Shrek, so I'm quite looking forward to this. I don't mind a little bit MV, as long as it's not overdone. I wished the samples would play for me though; they don't seem to want to. And I do have the latest QuickTime version.

The Quicktime has been acting up lately. For me the Soundtrack.net clips play without any trouble but I could not watch the King Kong trailer from the movie's own site. Strange are the ways of computer programmes.
