I'm sure that most of you adults JW fans are interested in Harry Potter exclusevely because of the music.

:sigh:

Blind judgement is just great. I take it you've never read the books?

his most famous themes have to be Raiders March and Jaws Theme. Everyone's seen raiders, and thus its very famous and spoofed . Jaws likewise has been spoofed alot. Star wars on the other hand, only if you've seen a movie then you know it. Many people i know have never seen star wars cuz it seems to them like a "dumb star trek typeish movie," in other words a nerd-movie in their opinion. As a result, they don't know the theme.

I really don't agree with that.

Sturgis, I said many times I don't care in Harry Potter, since it's childish, something for children, and so it's boring and totally un-interesting to me. I never said "Harry Potter sucks", or "Harry Potter fans are stupid", I just said I am ot interested in anything Harry Potter related. The only thing can get a bit of my attention, is the score, but again, not that much. Sure it's great music, thought. It's Williams. ;)

Same is for Star Wars. I've never been (and never will be) a space-movie lover. I prefer action adventure films, like Indiana Jones or Die Hard. Don't hate me for that, it's just my taste. Did you ever seen a post by me in any Potter thread/poll? Not only I'm not a fan, but most importantly, I'm not an expert, so I let the expert discuss. Ok? :sigh:

"Blind judgement" is someone that criticize and bash something or someone without knowing. I didn't offend, as simply has never criticized. It's not offensive to say that Harry Potter is for children, because it's the truth. Most of the fans are children, but that doesn't mean it's something offensive.

Just because something it's mainly for children doesn't forbid at all to adults to like it as well. Hope it's clear. :|

The books find their own audience. Critics agree that by the fourth/fifth book, it had stopped being "children's literature" and become just "literature." There is no intended age group, regardless of who reads them the most. Kids like the books for their magical creatures and adventures, adults appreciate the drama and subtle humor, and the multi-layered characters and excellent writing. It's close-minded of you to say Harry Potter is "childish."

Well-said, Sturge. It's ridiculous, IMO, to dislike books or movies because of their genre or "intended" audience. If it's good, I'll enjoy it regardless of what it's supposed to be.

So, let's say it this way: I didn't read the books because I'm not interested in that genre, ok? It's not childish, but still I'm not attracted by magicians r fantasy stories. :)

By the way, Ray, it's not correct to say that I dislike books or movies, since I never commented/bashed/criticized them.
