LOL

What will you do when he gets older. Tell him everything he loved as a child was crap? I suppose that could be entertaining for him.

I like how this thread is now about Star Trek.

Anyway, yes I haven't seen DS9 but if it's anything like the novelazations of A Call To Arms and Sacrifice of Angels... then it kicks the crap out of Star Trek V.

Justin - Who thought he knew Drax...

You gotta admire my style. Shoot first, send flowers later. :)

But will you be there for him when he finds out?

I don't need to be there for him because it's a gradual process. For some it will take longer than others. Some of you are still in denial. Jurassic Park, me arse.

All I'll say is that Return Of The Jedi is an outstanding film.

Loved Prince Of The City too! Especially Treat Williams: great role! Love L.A. Confidential, Schindler's List, Deliverance, Midnight Cowboy, Howard's End (arguably the best film of the early 90's!). I like most films of Yves Robert (especially La Guerre des Boutons), Empire of the Sun, Blade Runner and 2001.

Great list Alex! Thanks!

I hate that word, but I'm somehow racist when talking about movies.

A movie, to interests me, must have that actor or actress I like, or be like that movie I like.

I mean, I love adventure movies like Indiana Jones (surprised?), but an adventure movie may not interests me, if the protagonist is an actor I don't like.

On the other hand, if I like an actor, I may be nterested if he does movie of genres I'm not really interested in. Example, I loved so much Bruce Willis in Die Hard, that I watched everyone of his movies, even The Sixth Sense, althought I don't really love that kind of movies, and still liked it.

Same for Will Smith and Tom Hanks. Could be a comedy, a drama, an action movie, I'll watch it no matter what, and I'll surely like it.

I love every Tom Hanks movie, being very dramatic like Cast Away or The Green Mile, or funny (but still sad) like Forrest Gump or The Terminal, or even love stories like You've got mail...that's because I like him, he's possibly my favorite actor, and everytime he does a movie, I'm interested in it, no matter what kind of movie is.

And, about the other example I did, I'm not interested in a movie if I'm not interested in the actors, even if I like the film genre.

The most recent example is Sahara. It has been labeled as very similar to Raiders of the Lost Ark. Since that's one of my favourite movies ever, as soon as heard that I got interested, but since the actors tells nothing to me, I forgot it. I still have to see it, and I'm not exited at all in watching it anytime soon. I'll probably watch it not before Tv will air it.

If you didn't noticed, I used the verb "may"...

That's happened in occasional times, but doesn't mean it happens all the times.

And who named Harrison Ford? Yeah, I don't like anything more than the Indiana Jones trilogy, but apart that, I never liked Harrison Ford that much. The Fugitive is pretty good, and I liked the Star Wars Prequels as well, despite sci-fi is just not for me.

Yeah, sorry. I was talking about Ford, so it was obviousy the Original Trilogy. The Sequels. The TV distracted me in an horrible way.

Let's hope Neil won't read that immense mistake.

That's not racist. It would be racist if you would object to watching movies with people from any given ethnicity in it. This is just about preferring certain actors.

You do know what racism is, don't you?

Yes, I hate racism and be called racist, since I'm not at all. I just used that word, which is way too strong if you talk about movies.

It's just that I feel like "losing time" if I watch a movie I'm not sure I'm interested in.

Life is so beautiful, it's a shame to waste it watching bad movies, so I try to choose wisely before drink. It may be the fake Grail. :)
