-‘Munich’ TV spot sighted

A reader wrote in tonight to alert us to the fact that Universal is now running a television spot for “Munich.” The reader tells us that, “as far as I could tell, the footage in it is entirely different from that of the trailer. Great stuff… If you're familiar with [the TV spot], is the music from the film? I'm guessing not, since Williams started recording late. But you never know. It sounds like it could be. It's got a nice lilting female vocal wailing through it.”

I have yet to see the spot, but it’s a good possibility that the music could be Williams’ work. The score features a solo vocal performance (and from the sounds of it, one that could be considered a ‘nice, lilting female vocal wailing’) by Lisbeth Scott, who last did some nice lilting female vocal wailing in “The Passion of the Christ.”

This, plus the fact that Williams’ score is already only a few weeks away from commercial release makes it possible that the marketing is now utilizing original music.

Keep an eye out for the spot, and if you happen to catch it, please drop us a line about where you saw it!

Thanks to James for writing in with the info

I saw that spot the other day...kinda...

I was in the kitchen and I heard the Geoffrey Rush voice over, and the music sounded familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it. When I ran to the television the trailer was already over. So ultimately I didn't hear the music that well. I'm sure they'll be playing that commercial pretty much 'round the clock until the film is released later this month, so I'll try to be more observant next time ;)

Music isn't Williams, soundtrack.net says its Uru: Ages Beyond Myst (2003) - Tim Larkin

Here's your chance!http://media.themoviebox.net/db/0008.php

Oops, not the same one I saw. The one I witnessed had voice over. It's more or less a variation on the teaser trailer that came out a month ago, but it was one I hadn't seen before. I thought the music was different then the original teaser, but maybe not.

Tim, who realized this was completely unhelpful
