batmanand 0
Hey everyone. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, have a good Diwali, have a good New Year. Oh, and in a month's time, Happy Tet.Anyway, have been listening again to HP:PS/SS again recently, and have been listening to Harry's Wondrous World (not the COS crap ending version). It must surely be one of the greatest five minutes of music JW has ever written... but anyway. I was wondering what all the themes in it where. So far I have (in chronological order):Hedwig's Theme part B (the theme for Hogwarts Castle)Harry's Wondrous World theme part A (the lyrical theme)Harry's Wondrous World theme part B (the four-note fanfare-type theme)Family ThemeQuidditch MarchAre there any others? And what do the HWW part A and B themes represent?

Ray Barnsbury 8
Hedwig's Theme part B (the theme for Hogwarts Castle)  Harry's Wondrous World theme part A (the lyrical theme)  Harry's Wondrous World theme part B (the four-note fanfare-type theme)  Family Theme  Quidditch March  Are there any others? And what do the HWW part A and B themes represent? There's also Hedwig's Theme part A, kind of in the background on flute at one point. And the Hogwarts Forever! theme, right after the Quidditch Fanfare. The two parts of what you called the HWW themes are often referred to as Harry's theme.Ray Barnsbury - who agrees about the wonder that is HWW

Miguel Andrade 964
not the COS crap ending version So you find Williams own concert version of the piece to be crap?
Marian Schedenig 5,520
Hogwarts Forever is in fact the Gryffindor theme though. The great hall entrance music could be called a Hogwarts theme if you want, since it briefly appears one or two more times, related to Hogwarts.Marian -
Ray Barnsbury 8
I actually like the ending to the CoS version...not more than the original, but it's nice to have the choice between two such different endings to the same piece.Hogwarts Forever is in fact the Gryffindor theme though. The great hall entrance music could be called a Hogwarts theme if you want, since it briefly appears one or two more times, related to Hogwarts. I've all but given up trying to explain the thematic integrity of the Potter scores to people, after some refused to believe that Harry's theme and the Family theme from SS/PS were different.
