Fine by me. Anything to steer away from the crapfest that was Die Another Day (although that one is fun for camp value, it sure as sh*t doesn't look like what a Bond movie should be to me...)

Oh, and, BAM! 10,000 posts, bitches!

Wow, looks very cool! I like that they didn't shy away from the assassin aspect of Bond.

"It doesn't bother you, killing those people?"

"Well I wouldn't be very good at my job if it did."

The trailer music sounded very much like MediaVentures, not that I'm complaining.

where can i watch the quicktime version?

At the link QMM posted. Just press "View X-Large Trailer" or "View Super High Quality"

Or, alternatively, click here (47MB) or here (167MB - same resolution, but considerably sharper).

It looks great! Craig's voice was a bit jarring at first, but I've got used to it now. This and The Prestige are the only films I'm really looking forward to in the next few months.

Edit: Marc, you might want to move this topic to this thread.

You're not looking forward to All The King's Men? or Children of Men? The Science of Sleep? The Last King of Scotland? The Departed? Sunshine? Little Children? Flags of Our Fathers? Lucky You? Babel? A Good Year? F*ck? For Your Consideration? Bobby? Apocalypto? The Good German? Breaking and Entering? The Blood Diamond? The Good Shepherd? Pan's Labyrinth? Perfume?

None of the above films hold any interest for you?

Morlock- who think this film is looking better, but still a whole lot of bad in it (Principally, too many fight sequences, and a terribley unimpressive villain).

I haven't read the novel or seen any previous film (which I think doesn't do the book justice anyway), but this trailer seems really focused on the love story.

Is it really that important in the story?

I don't know, it could be good. And concidering who the love interest is, I'm willing to give it a chance.

Morlock- who has not liked any love interest in a Bond film in a very long time

Uh-oh, mega typo by me, I'm afraid, I meant to say something like:

This and The Prestige are the films I'm most looking forward to in in the next few months.

I absolutely agree, there are a lot of potentially good films yet to come this year but the two I mentioned are the two I'm keenest to see.

He just seems wooden, uncomfortable, and camp to me. I cringe at the way he seems to be delivering all of bond's dialogue.

What are you talking about? His acting appears to be everything I hoped it would be! Did you expect him to cry as he was delivering his lines? He sounds like a very cold assassin...which is what James Bond is! I'm glad they are finally bringing back the serious aspects that were sorely lacking in all of the recent Bonds.

I say bring it on!

Sophie Marceau (sp?) was, but Brosnan's "acting" just wasn't good enough for it to work IMO. The script could have been better, too. A nice idea done badly, I think.

Rubbish, sheer utter total rubbish!

You are really talking out of your ass and you have no clue what you are actually saying with your asslips!

No offense though!

I prefer Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies to The World is Not Enough, which was alright but nothing all that special. This new one has me excited though.

I'm sorry, but this looks like anything but camp. One could even criticize (once the film comes out, of course) that it is too serious.

The love story defined Bond. It's just a pity that similar love interests that were supposed to "define" Bond existed in the Brosnan era. It might delude the importance of Vesper Lynd.

.....which robthehand named in his post. ;)

You also left out The Black Dahlia. ;)

That was a mistake. I am greatly looking forward to that one.

In many ways it's the best Bond film since the 60's.

I disagree. I thought Tomorrow Never Dies was better (Jonathan Pryce is one of my favorite villains).

I am probably the only person who thought that Timothy Dalton was great as Bond. I think his 2 films are standouts in the series. The Brosnan films were mediocre and cheesy, although Goldeneye was pretty good.

Bond needs to get back to where people were the enemy, not huge technological monstrosities. Living Daylights is an example of what I mean. (or even View to a Kill).

We need another Bond film where the bad guy isn't revealed until the end, like You Only Live Twice.

;)

No you're not. He's my second-favourite Bond, after Connery.

A View to a Kill was great apart from Moore (who was about 10 years too old :(), and You Only Live Twice was fun in a silly sort of way - but not the sort of thing I'd want to see made now. I agree a bout The Living Daylights, though.

I have a four-way tie of favourites - On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Moonraker, From Russia With Love and You Only Live Twice.

Moonraker does not belong in that list!

It reeks, yes It's actually a film that reeks!
