This sort of thing seems to be happening quite a lot on other forums (about other things), so let's see how it goes here:

The rules are simple - the first vote is open for 24 hours, and everyone votes for their least favourite of Williams' 21st Century scores. The next day, we vote another one off - and so on, until we have a winner. :P

The Patriot

Artificial Intelligence: A.I.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones

Minority Report

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Catch Me If You Can

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

The Terminal

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

War of the Worlds

Memoirs of a Geisha

Munich

REMEMBER TO VOTE FOR LEAST FAVOURITE, NOT FAVOURITE! 8O

My vote goes to CoS.

Why not open a new poll each time? the "outdated" polls can be locked and let drown

in the depths of the forum (or deleted).

I'll do that for the next round. :)

The Terminal

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

War of the Worlds

Memoirs of a Geisha

there are quite a few erm..... I will go for War of The Worlds

Sorry to spoil the fun but the patriot was composed in 2000.

That is not XXI century. 8O

And again, this kind of thread (the way of doing it, voting for the lesser and ruling it out, etc...) has not been done with any other williams decade. We are just 5 years into the 21st century. Still much to come.... (i hope :) )

AOTC.

Great music, but horribly handled in the film, and there's a theme from Hook and Nixon in there somewhere. I'm not trying to pull a Joe here because he'd have different reasons as he outright hates it, but I had to pick one and that was it.

By the way, The Patriot shouldn't count since it was released in 2000 and the 21st century didn't begin until 2001.

I was going to suggest 'Unfinished/American Journey' as 'worse' (and with this i mean cheaper for williams since he hardly composed anything new, but with great music) but i saw it was made in 1999. THis puzzles me more since the patriot was in 2000, then music is re-used in it, not in Unfinished journey...

BTW drax, i think we are rating Williams scores, not their usage in the film or treatment in it. So if it is great music, it is still great music... (And Home Alone and Hook have more similar main themes, and those are classic scores)

Minority Report.

Why...?

Also, it's the score that counts, I guess, not Murphy's atrocious mix.

Mix aside, I just find it a fairly dull score. Ok for a background listen but just doesn't really attract me for a real listening experience. But then I didn't really like the movie either.

I find it one of his most interesting recent scores, but not the most listenable, save for it's 4-5 dynamite tracks.

Morlock- who, by the by, was listening today to Azkaban and is simply in awe of it. I've never heard Williams sounding more fresh.

I think the title of this thread and its goal are a bit confusing. :)

Why? Voting off one at a time to find which one is best...

Anyways, voting for round one is over. I'll start the "round two" thread (new thread so I can make it a poll) - Marc, can you lock this?
