Due to the current polls about the best of Williams in... 21th, 90s, etc... and because of some scores incredibly rejected by the fans... now is the time to judge our knowledge about the work of John Williams...

The question don´t want to silence: We´re prepared to choose the best of Williams????? Let´s find out that in this poll.

I´ve watched (the score inside the movie) or listened to more than 80 Williams`scores!!!!!! :sleepy:

___Add up album listenings with the scores you only heard in the film_____

I expect to have explained the poll correctly... do you have add up album listenings with the scores you only heard in the film.

In that case, it's 43, or 44, depending on whether you count those two measley cues from Family Plot that are officially released.

This is my own interpretation, but in case of Family Plot those cues don´t represent one score... unless you´ve watched the film or you have a bootleg (in that case warn me, because I would be very interested). :jump:

On the other hand, The Rare Breed released suite could be counted as one score... in my interpretation too. :sleepy:

Over 80

No one has seen Story of a woman? Its a magnificent movie and score!

:sigh: j/k

Really it is a movie of the 70s, we dont have any old enough italian member to have seen it in release?

Or at least some italian member could try to find it in video renting stores....

Since when has "Officially Released" been a barrier to fandom?

Justin - Off to listen to his DELETED BY MODERATOR of Family Plot.

You're one of THEM aren't you? :sigh:

I'm sure he didn't hear the above mentionned score.

There is only one song released from that -- and was even released in Cd a few years back... next question!

The Katherine Reed Story was an episode from one of the shows Williams was scoring at the time, The Kraft Summer Music Hall.

How does listening to more scores prove you have a greater knowledge of a person's work? You have to study it and really listen to it to be considered an expert. You have to have at least some sort of musical expertise to claim that title.

Well that way one doesnt get knowledge about music in it's technical form.

But hearing the works gives you knowledge about william's works... You can opine more about Williams' scores if you have all than other people who dont have a few. Because you know those scores and the other doesnt, even if he/she is a composer himself...

But the music one can have more depth and understanding of the scores. He can know better about Williams style, but not about his works.
