Mr. Breathmask 480
I must say I have not seen the original. How is it? (and what's it about? )
nightscape94 965
I like the original, but it's not like remaking Casablanca or something like that. Neil LaBute is a very good director and has made at some good films. I trust him. Plus, that cute chick from Flight Plan is in it Tim

pixie_twinkle 44
For those who can't be bothered to click the link, they are talking about The Wicker Man.The original IS a classic I think. A truly creepy atmospheric film of the type that was quite in vogue in the early '70s. On first release this film was a double-bill with Don't Look Now. What a great experience it must have been to see those two movies back to back at the cinema for the first time.I wonder who they'll get to do the sexy singing/banging on the wall scene.James-thinking about Britt Eckland for some reason... batmanand 0
It is undoubtedly the best British film of the 1970s; I would go so far as to say the best British film ever after The Third Man.It is also a remarkable film in that it successfully crosses all sorts of genres (mystery, horror, musical etc), and has one of the best endings in history. For me, that is a classic (although I agree the word classic is overused). robthehand 3
I think people are throwing the world classic around waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaytoo muchI agree, but The Wicker Man genuinely is (IMO) a classic film. I agree that it is an overused word though.

ST-321 4
When I saw the title of the thread, I thought perhaps it was going to be about the Posiedon Adventure. Why is that re-make necessary?
robthehand 3
Which one? Not that it matters... they were (and will be) all pointless, IMO.
