1. Each round, you vote for what you think is the weakest score. After 24 hours, the weakest score will be knocked out, and so on, until there is only one score left - the winner.

2. Each poll is set for 24 hours, any votes AFTER that time won't register.

3. If there is a tie between 2 or more scores, in order to keep things moving along, ALL of them will be knocked out, UNLESS it is the last round where there are only 2 scores left anyway (otherwise both would be knocked out and there would be no winner).

Please report any errors *politely* by PM. :)

Things got off to a "surprising" start last time with Empire voted off in the first round.

Remaining scores are:

Raiders of the Lost Ark

Heartbeeps

E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial

Monsignor

Return of the Jedi

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

The River

SpaceCamp

The Witches of Eastwick

Empire of the Sun

The Accidental Tourist

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Born on the Fourth of July

Always

I think too many people read the topic title: BEST '80's Williams score and voted for Empire. It is, after all these polls, perhaps still not clear that they should vote for the LEAST favorite instead...

Typical... the first time I don't put the huge red letters. Guess I'll have to put them back.

Look on the bright(ish) side - at least Empire won't be skewing all the results, like it normally does. :)

Well, what I like about these polls Rob, is the element of surprise. Thanks for continuing the effort! :)

Agreed. Come on, let's be serious, "Empire" is worse than Heartbeeps, Monsignore, Always ??

Anyway, this time, I vote for "Raiders"... No, just kidding.

I vote for "Heatbeeps", outside of the lovely and dynamic End title, I never find the courage to sit through all of it (one of these scores that would work better if the album were shorter).

It may be, but it's far from being the worst or second worst score of the 80's.

thats not the way I feel.

I'm no longer participating in these polls, since one or two people are clearly corrupting the votes with multiple accounts. Thanks for ruining something that actually had value.

Too bad...

In fact, it is just a poll...

If it is true, then it should be easy for Marc to know who are the members who voted, if they were newly created accounts with probably the same IP address.

I am still voting because if somebody wanted to ruin this poll, to stop voting is to give him full satisfaction. I didn't vote against ESB, even though I didn't thought ESB would absolutely win this poll, I thought E.T. would, but it is just a poll. I mean it should only be a funny thing and I have a full respect for robthehand idea.

Whatever happens in these polls, nothing can influence my tastes

No, forget it. Moderators usually ignore this request.

If I didn't have a social life, and had a whole day to waste in front of my PC like Joe, I would create 30 accounts and vote against the same score, because it's funny to ruin funny polls like these.

dude, what the f is your problem with me, I didn't create 30 friggin accounts to get rid of ESB, if I did, the vote would have been a hell of wider than just two votes. Those of you who don't vote are just whiny.candy asses, pussies

The simple truth of the matter is I didn't do what has been suggested, and as I've told one regular here, I was out working at an audit, when I left Monsignor was losing, when I returned after the clock had expired, ESB had lost. Stick that up you hats, and smoke it.

Let's see if Joe will use all of his accounts again.

FYI, several veteran members have had their "alternate" accounts banned for over a week now.

One week. See? Veterans always receive a different treatment than others.

With the same "alternate" account I got 6 months. LOL

Yeah the rules are the same for everyone.

I say we have a pity party for you then cause you didn't get treated fair. I'll bring the chips since the dip is already here.

If only it were that simple.

These threads are actually making me interested in the board again. Like sands through the hourglass... so are the Posts of Our Board.

Oh what twisted webs we weave!

Seriously though, ESB winning this and every other poll that has anything to do with a comparison of quality in scores is just about the most obvious thing in the world. At least now the results will be somewhat surprising.

Justin - Who thinks E.T. will win.

P.S. I haven't heard all the scores so I'm not voting in ignorance.

OK, I have to admit that this place isn't what it used to be.

ESB voted the weakest score of the 1980s? LOL! ROTFLMAO LOL!!!!

I haven't voted in any of these, and I especially won't now. That's just ass-backwards, folks. And unscientific. And nonsensical. And biased? Or fixed?

How could the score that WON the vote to be named the #1 most favoite score of all JWfans just 3-5 years ago suddenly become the weakest score of the 1980s? Is it an utter rejection of your beliefs from just a few years ago? Such hatred of the SW PT that now people hate the SW OCT? Or is it an influx of the young, the niave, the ignorant, and/or brainwashed? (This is not saying that's what everybody is... but how else does one explain the results of this poll?) And clearly there is a new element... the Harry Potter fan who has never heard most of these scores and have utterly disrespected the entire body of Williams' work that led up to Potter. In fact, nobody sould vote unless they've heard them all. Basing your vote on a few biased rants is quite inane. And an example of what I'm talking about.

Thank God that personal tastes in music aren't democratic. Shudder at the thought. Otherwise we'd all only have pop radio to listen to and none of us would have any orchestra music to listen to, JW or not.

My personal favorite scores that has nothing to do with other's opinions or mass votes by current JWFan posters:

1. The Star Wars scores (Order: ESB, ROTS, ROTJ, TPM, SW/ANH, AOTC)

2. The Fury

3. Jurassic Park scores (Order: The Lost World, JP1)

4. The Indy Jones scores (Order: Raiders, TOD, TLC)

5. Jaws scores (Order: Jaws 2, Jaws 1)

6. ET

7. Hook

8. Superman

9. Jane Eyre

My most overrated JW score list:

1. All the Harry Potter series (Nice, but IMO they don't touch the other JW action scores)

Most underrated JW scores to me (that are not on my tops favorite list and nobody ever votes them as high on their lists):

1. Far & Away

2. Images

3. 1941

My JW scores that collect dust:

1. Every drama/romantic comedy/ semi-serious score (the Stepmoms, Accidental Tourists... and so on/so forths).

My JW scores that collect dust but shouldn't:

1. Schindler's List (Masterpiece but a hard listen).

2. His 70s scores (not listed earlier)

3. His 60s scores (not listed earlier)

That's just my opinion. My faves. And my vote. I won't contribute to the polls (nothing against the pollmaker or anybody else) and I'm just stating mine here. :P

I have never said it was simple ROTFLMAO

But I already had to do this for one of the boards I administrate (not the one on my John Williams site).

The administration panel is not enough, you have to perform an SQL query in the phpmyadmin interface to check the members who voted ESB on that poll.

This calls for a full on JWfan investigation! We must know who is behind the falcifious ESB votes.Spare no expense and no means. The Truth shall prevel and the culprits shall be punished.

Now where are the old JWFan Investigators.Uni was one of them I recall...
