1. Each round, you vote for what you think is the weakest score. After 24 hours, the weakest score will be knocked out, and so on, until there is only one score left - the winner.

2. Each poll is set for 24 hours, any votes AFTER that time won't register.

3. If there is a tie between 2 or more scores, in order to keep things moving along, ALL of them will be knocked out, UNLESS it is the last round where there are only 2 scores left anyway (otherwise both would be knocked out and there would be no winner).

Please report any errors *politely* by PM. 8O

In this first round The Empire Strikes Back was voted off, round two Always, round three The Accidental Tourist, round four Monsignor and The River, round five Heartbeeps, round six SpaceCamp, round seven Born on the Fourth of July, round eight The Witches of Eastwick, so place your votes for the next to go.

Remaining scores are:

Raiders of the Lost Ark

E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial

Return of the Jedi

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

Empire of the Sun

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

I vote Return of the Jedi.

3 Indy scores in the Top-6. That is correct.

I think (not only my personal tastes, but for the majority of people) that the Top-5 of JW's 80s scores is the 3 Indy scores, with ESB and ET.

if you consider LC among the best, well you do have that avatar.

People often have the wrong taste, Mirko.

There's such a thing as right and wrong taste? Please provide details of the objective source that is used to measure personal taste. :P

Tough group. I listened to Empire of the Sun a few days ago and was reminded of how great it is, so my vote goes to Last Crusade instead.

People often have the wrong taste, Mirko.

What is that referred to?

What I meant to say is that, there is no "good" or "bad" music. Keep in mind (talking in general) that any composer/artist/band we hate also have fans, who loves him/her/them.

So even if I think it's impossible to think to LC as a weak or bad score, I live with the fact that someone can dislkie it.

Nothing wrong with that, just different opinions.

The problem is that some people fail to realize that other people may have different tastes, and tend to think that what I like is great, and what I don't like sucks, it doesn't matter if there's someone who actually like it.

What do you think it refers too, Mirko?

Well, if I asked it's because I don't know, otherwise I wouldn't have asked you know...

I was talking in general, I wasn't referring to anyone/anything here, so I don't know what's so wrong, that even made you click on the bold button. :P

Let's see... Empire of the Sun will sadly go today, leaving three Indiana Jones, one Star Wars, and E.T. How pathetically predictable. If The Empire Strikes Back were on the list, I'd be dying of boredom, so thanks Joe-in-Ar.

Matt

- who likes two of the eliminated scores and Empire of the Sun better than three of the scores that will be on the round ten list.

What exactly is your problem with that score, Joe?

- Marc, genuinely asking.

to be short

I've written wonderful stuff on why I don't care for the score, not that many here agree, which isn't the point.

I think the film, the score, the acting, is all paint by numbers, very lazy stuff. Uninspired, IMHO.

you are most welcome

Rubbish, if Williams was lazy and uninspired he would have pulled a Home Alone 2 or a Chamber Of Secrets, instead of composing a beautiful, exciting all new score that makes minimal use of even the Raiders March.

You are not being logical, Doctor.

So Stefan, with your "people often have the wrong taste" post you were referring to Joe?

If so, I obviously agree, you can count the people who dislike LC on the fingers of one hand.

Williams lazy with LC...ahahahah that's so silly. Then I LOVE when Williams is lazy...I'd love to see him being lazy everytime and yet compose such incredibly amazing stuff like the Grail Theme, Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra, Father theme, plus classic action pieces like Escape from Venice, Indy's very first adventure and Belly of the Steel Beast... LOL
