Ontyrian 0
Which of these 2 themes is the "better" theme?

Docteur Qui 1,544
They're a little too different. One's a fully developed and variated theme, while the other's a fanfare - nothing more than a motif.
futuremartymcfly 0
i have to agree with magical me, lukes theme is way too different and developed from the Rebel Fanfare.

Marian Schedenig 8,089
Also, the Skywalker theme only has a short bridging section taken from Korngold, whereas the Rebel fanfare as a whole is lifted from Dukas.Seriously, I agree, they're too different.Marian - 8O Ghostbusters (Elmer Bernstein)
Ontyrian 0
Well, you see, I wasn't going for "development" as they are obviously too far apart in that area. I was going for more "enjoyable" (guess I should have already pointed that out *slaps self*). The 2 share 1 main similarity...heroic.
Jeshopk 8
They're both equally good for the purposes they serve. But I voted Luke's Theme because it has more uses.
Datameister 2,019
As I've said before, I hate the word "better" in contexts like this. But I voted for Luke's theme because, as others have stated, it has more uses. The Rebel Fanfare is great, but it's less flexible than Luke's theme. I must say, I got quite a surge of adrenaline when I first heard it in ROTS ("Get 'Em R2").
Docteur Qui 1,544
I prefer hearing a triumphant version of the Rebel Fanfare than a triumphant version of Luke's theme, I do admit. It seems so cheesy when you hear Luke's theme after he does something heroic. I don't know why - I'm fine with hearing the Raiders march after Indy does something interesting.
