Xander Harris 9,674 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Some good music in there...but nah I'll pass for $300.
fommes 165 Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 Would this perhaps be taken from that extended LP? Here's the tracklist of the extended score:01. Overture (2:36)02. Maurizio 6,913 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Would this perhaps be taken from that extended LP?I think that's likely. However, that extended LP was a promo (which later on circulated as a bootleg) produced for the Academy members, so I don't know how Bear Records got the license to release this stuff.
Luke Skywalker 2,383 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 does this smell 'legit' bootleg like the 'how to steal a million' and 'heidi' tsunami records cds?
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 I don't see how this could be a bootleg.
Luke Skywalker 2,383 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Nor do i see how an unknown germal label could have the rigths of so many movies, and not an US based specialized label like fsm, intrada or la la land...I think the german law has a 'plot hole' regarding bootlegs (that's why the tsunami cds were made, didnt they?), so maybe they can release it, and in a deluxe form. But that does not mean they got the collaboration of film studios..
Wojo 2,458 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 I don't know. $30 per disc is still a lot for this set, even as attractive as it looks. I've never gone out of my way to watch John Wayne.
Hitch 60 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 someone here will likely buy it.I have. (Cue Dr Evil laugh)
Marian Schedenig 11,694 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 I think the german law has a 'plot hole' regarding bootlegs (that's why the tsunami cds were made, didnt they?), so maybe they can release it, and in a deluxe form.I may be wrong (I don't know the specifics regarding Tsunami), but I believe this was a very simple legal issue and not a loophole of any kind: Didn't the legality vs. illegality of the Tsunami releases just stem from the fact that the Disney company could pressure the US into extending the copyright duration but not (yet!) Europe?
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 someone here will likely buy it.I have. (Cue Dr Evil laugh)you're not that stupid.
indy4 160 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 This score is fantastic, but I don't recall any major missing music from the film, and for 300 dollars I'll pass.
John Crichton 4 Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 I'd be interested if the score was an induvidual release. As a box, no thanks. I still haven't even been able to fork out for the Blue Box, a much more worthy purchase.
Hitch 60 Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 someone here will likely buy it.I have. (Cue Dr Evil laugh)you're not that stupid.I'm not? :censored:
Ollie 1,375 Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 There has been some mention over at FSM that the cues/additional cues may contain sound effects based on previous releases by the same company.Meanwhile I still wait for a release of Dimitri Tiomkin's The High And The Mighty.
Wojo 2,458 Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Well if the score contains SFX, then you're getting more for your money. $300 for score and sound effects is clearly a better deal than $300 for just score. I mean...
fommes 165 Posted February 8, 2010 Author Posted February 8, 2010 I think so, but without The Cowboys!
Ollie 1,375 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I think someone posted over at FSM that they had received the box. It's somewhere on the message board.
