Matt C 605 Posted February 13, 2013 Author Posted February 13, 2013 The trex looks ridiculous! Who approved this?It certainly doesn't look like anyone from ILM did...
Muad'Dib 2,059 Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 The idea is nice, but the released product.... Sheesh....
crumbs 16,007 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Yikes.Typical that a CGI dinosaur from 20 years ago looks better than one made today.
Luke Skywalker 2,385 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 my god how awful. They should had made it with the film model, and a lenticula poster, heck.
Muad'Dib 2,059 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 That's what she said.Oh Bloodbath, you dog!
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 The fan in me wants that Kitten.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I like the concept, despite how gimmicky it is, but it just looks awful.
MSM 194 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 My God, this is how they want to appeal to new audiences? I honestly thought this was fan made art on first sight. Moreover, the mirror is at the wrong side of the car.
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Both mirrors would most likely show the T-Rex...
MSM 194 Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Both mirrors would most likely show the T-Rex...True, but both wouldn't show the head.
Luke Skywalker 2,385 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 So is this going to be released worldwide? Will it be released in english in some German cinemas?
Luke Skywalker 2,385 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 january...knowing you were in Spain I just had to change country
Matt C 605 Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 Stereo D has finished work on converting Jurassic Park. It's now added to their projects list, behind Titanic.http://stereodllc.com/projects/

Looks like Spielberg had them fix the plethora of production mistakes in the film. Alright!

So does that mean they finished 3D conversion a while ago?

So does that mean they finished 3D conversion a while ago?The order they list their projects make no sense to me. I assumed Stereo D put Jurassic Park behind Titanic because of the movie's production dates (and not their re-release dates), but even that's questionable. And now that I think about it, Stereo D hasn't added Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (which was finished last year and has been out for over a month) to their projects page. They did all the conversion work on that film, and their symbol appears on both the theatrical poster and end credits for that film. I guess popularity takes precedence over order.
Matt C 605 Posted March 13, 2013 Author Posted March 13, 2013 "The way it was meant to be seen"... a la two TV spots for JP 3D.http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/175465-check-out-two-new-tv-spots-for-jurassic-park-3d
scallenger 665 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Spielberg talks JP 3Dhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ps1t0bFcMCo Muad'Dib 1
Matt C 605 Posted March 23, 2013 Author Posted March 23, 2013 So, a new sound mix to go with the stereoscopic 3D... nice.
crumbs 16,007 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 New sound mix premiered on the Bluray as far as I'm aware. It was the new 7.1 mix with added sound effects.
scallenger 665 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Added sound effects? Are you sure about that? I think it was just remixed. Where did you hear they actually added effects?
Naïve Old Fart 13,023 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Back in 1993, when "JP" was frist released, there were complaints from cinema owners, concerning the sound. Nowadays, DTS is common, but then, hardly any cinemas were equipped to showcase "JP" in DTS, and had to show the film in either Dolby Digital (which had only come out 1 year earlier) or in Pro Logic, aka Dolby Stereo (yeuch!). It wasn't even 6-track magnetic. Oh, the shame! One cinema in the town where I used to live even sent the film back to Universal and demanded a "louder" print. When I saw "JP" on its last cinema outing, I was dismayed by the look (far, far too saturated!), and the sound (still not loud enough) of the film.I look forward to seeing "JP" in 3D, and with these "new" sound effects.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 No new sound effects were added to the JP blu, it was a new 7.1 mix and it sounds fantastic.
Matt C 605 Posted March 24, 2013 Author Posted March 24, 2013 I haven't the new JP Blu-ray, so I'll be experiencing that new 7.1 mix when the re-release hits theaters.
Luke Skywalker 2,385 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 i want to see it even if i have to see it in german!
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 dort wll, Dinosaurier auf der Dinosaurier-Tour sein?
Luke Skywalker 2,385 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Hey...i just looked it, and this is going to be released in Spain on 23 august....Good for me since then i will be able to see it in Spanish! And now i see its going to be released in Germany on Spetember 2nd or 5th...Are they mad releasing the 3d bluray in april too in the usa???
Matt C 605 Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 Are they mad releasing the 3d bluray in april too in the usa???Hey, the movie that started the 3D re-release craze, The Lion King, was only scheduled a two-week run (obviously lengthened) to hype up the film's debut on Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D right after.I think Universal's trying to emulate that strategy for Jurassic Park.
MSM 194 Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 My God, this is how they want to appeal to new audiences? I honestly thought this was fan made art on first sight. Moreover, the mirror is at the wrong side of the car. It's actually on the right side. No car has that disclaimer on the driver's side. Looks like Spielberg had them fix the plethora of production mistakes in the film. Alright!Alright Btw I hope they will have additional scenes to justify the 'cliff mystery'. I have never understood it nor the explanations that tried to explain it.
MSM 194 Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Cliff mystery?yah, or whatever they call it. You don't remember Ellie and Muldoon getting down to the crashed car at the T-rex pad, and then back to their Jeep (which was up the cliff) in the next scene?
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 I have not seen Jurassic Park since the late 90's....
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 The T-Rex eats a goat and breaks through the fence, two minutes later there's a cliff where there was solid ground.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 that makes sense, how else could the car fall of the cliff...if there was none
publicist 4,650 Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 That's not the answer, that's the question - how can the T-Rex break through the fence on solid ground while minutes later the jeep is pushed down a 20-meter distance? I remember when i saw it in theatres in '93 that it was a big headscratcher and obviously they did it for dramatic effect, hoping nobody would notice. There are half-assed explanations, like there's a ravine within the fenced area but the distance from where the rex breaks through and where the car is pushed doesn't really add up.
Jay 46,244 Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Guys, see the explanation for the cliff "problem" here:http://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19538&p=678906
