A new recording of Williams’ Elegy for Cello and Orchestra has been released as part of the album We’ll Paint You a Rainbow, a compilation of songs and themes about peace produced by world-renowned cellist Lynn Harrell and his wife, the violinist Helen Nightengale.
For this album, Williams conducted a recording of the song “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” arranged by Randy Kerber and performed by soprano Christine Brewer (see video of the recording session).
The new recording of Williams’ Elegy for Cello and Orchestra was performed by the Angeli Ensemble conducted by Michael Nowak, featuring Lynn Harrell on cello. The album can be purchased on the HEARTbeats website (physical version), Amazon.com and iTunes (digital).
