On his 89th birthday, I look at John Williams’s first film score which was not composed for Spielberg or Lucas in Hollywood. It was for a provincial government official in Newfoundland and Labrador when Williams was a young member of the U.S. Air Force. I live just minutes away from the little downtown building where this score was recorded (it's still there) and the library (also still there) where he would find local provincial melodies usually sung by fishermen.    https://setthetap
