John Williams will conduct a new arrangement for orchestra and chorus of the “Star Spangled Banner” to mark its 200th anniversary, as part of the “A Capitol Fourth” Independence Day celebration concert.
The event will feature performances from some of America’s best known celebrities and musical artists, including Frankie Valli, Patti LaBelle, Jordin Sparks, Michael McDonald, Sara Evans, Kendall Schmidt and Kelli O’Hara.
“A Capitol Fourth” will be broadcast live on PBS from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. EDT.
