They released a PDF with the discography of the Boston Pops but it is incomplete! So no hopes there, I think the answer lies in Boston Pops fans out there, I know that someone must have some discography. Maybe not complete, but at least better than mine and the official discography! Regards Fernando

You are right. That is why I am thinking on setting up such discography! I think Keith Lockhart's discography is the easiest one to compile because he has only a handful of recordings. John Williams conducting the Boston Pops are obviously the topic of interest of many Williams fans who have such wonderful sites, so there should be enough material out there. But Arthur Fiedler's era would prove to be the most difficult to compile, even at a partial level, somewhat incomplete but at least the most familiar titles. Anyway, I am starting to look for all this information and if everything goes well, in one month or two, I will update my site with this new section. But if anyone knows of a Fiedler's discography, please let me know! Best regards Fernando

Hello: I run a site featuring info (no mp3s or videos, only info) on some pop orchestras such as the French ones: Mauriat, Pourcel, Lefevre and Caravelli, German ones: James Last and Kai Warner and Spanish one: Waldo de los Rios. I am thinking on adding some American orchestras such as Boston Pops and Hollyridge Strings sections. Any other suggestions? Anyway, if anyone already has a discography more or less complete of Boston Pops recordings, LPs, CDs and maybe, just maybe, 78 rpms.... please contact me offline. I will be adding some info on tours too (pamphlets) and videos (TV and DVDs). I already have some info but is incomplete. Take a look at the site to see what it looks like: http://www.grandorchestras.com/ Any help will be appreciated! Fernando

Really? If I knew that before... I ordered "Without a Clue" which arrived and I'm thankful for that. But, I also ordered "Space 1999" and that didn't arrive. Appears to be back-ordered and I'm trying to get a reply from them. Hopefully, this is just a miscommunication problem...

Agreed. Just to point out that the links that appeared in my post are from official composer's sites and these items are offered to the general public. Regards Fernando

Thank you Neil. I just got this set and listening to the bonus 3. The Superman Cinema UK presented an extensive review on the Rhino 2CD: http://www.supermancinema.co.uk/superman1/...cle/index.shtml On the DVD music-only cues, they say: "The DVD features the isolated score, and includes 8 alternate tracks, some of which are not on the Rhino 2 CD soundtrack. At the time, the soundtrack producers were unable to locate the COMPLETE 6 track masters, but were found by the DVD team." I will check the cues more carefully and probably will extract the disc 3 cues. Regards Fernando

Sorry if this has been already posted but I did a search and couldn't find a message that answered my question. Ok, as you all already know, the 4DVD Special Edition of Superman contains music-only audio track on disc 2 and additional music cues on disc 3. My question is, are these cues already available at the 2CD Superman release or in any unofficial release? In other words, should I extract the music from those discs (if some of the cues are unreleased) and in that case, does anyone has title for these cues? Also, the Making Superman: Filming the Legend has some brief excerpts with Williams about the music and he also comments on other aspects of the film, very briefly, as part of the other comments.

Not only young composers sell their own soundtracks, check at the following examples: - Joe Harnell has many of his CDs available at his site: episodic music of Hulk, V and film compilations of his work http://www.joeharnell.com/music1.html - Dennis McCarthy has, among his official soundtracks for sale, 4 composer releases: Sliders TV, Star Trek Borg Videogame, and two of V music. http://www.dennismccarthy.com/music_store.html - Richard Band also has official releases and among them, manuscripts autographed by him and two compilation CDs with unreleased music http://www.richardbandmusic.com/store.html - Alan Williams has several Composer Promos available at Intrada, Screen Archives. - Alan Hawkshaw has a CD with his "Music from Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious Universe" TV series http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~bigal/p3...rclrk280603.htm At BuySoundtrax you can find a few of other Composer Promos, among them, Enter the Matrix videogame music. I'm sure there are other composers who has the same policy. Also, there are composers who release their own label, such as John Scott with JOS Records and now Joel Goldsmith with FreeClyde Music starting with his score for Witchblade TV series. Gorgeous. If you have more tips, please let us know!

Message from Roberto Aschieri about his book Over the Moon
ferper replied to David Vincent's topic in General Discussion
I contacted the author about two years ago, and since then I tried to get a Chilean contact that could buy the book. When I contacted him, he said that there were still copies at La Feria Chilena del Libro (Chilean's Book Fair), specially at the Calle Huerfanos (Orphan's Street) near McIver corner. A friend just went there last month and couldn't find it. But he was only one day at Santiago so maybe someone with more time or that live in the city might still find it, even a used copy. The same writer is working on a book on Jerry Goldsmith. Let's hope that there is a reprint soon. -
I was wondering how many books are about John Williams ? Not music sheets. I only found a reference to a book in spanish called Over the Moon by a chilean (I think) writer. Any other books?

Hi all: I just joined and wanted to tell that this is a great site and this forum is very active! Congratulations. I have started a small website on film composer's TV / movie appearances, interviews, live recordings and related material. Thanks to Markus Hable I had been able to post a decent section on John Williams. The site to the page is: http://www.ferhiga.com/sfan/livescores/ And the section on Williams is here (longer url): http://www.ferhiga.com/sfan/livescores/com...hn-williams.htm There are other film composers featured there and I keep looking for more information. If you have any please let me know at the email address provided in the site. This is by no means my video or cd collection, but my Wish List, instead. Here is my small trade list of soundtracks, there are other for prog and rock groups too: http://www.ferhiga.com/me/strack.htm Regards Fernando
