  1. That was just my point. In America, as I have just found out, JW music is more recognisable than Mozarts. It is really hard to believe, but what can you do. Also, on this website, JW is rated better than Mozart. Another proof of that. Edit: Oh, I almost forgot to vote!
  2. Erich Wolfgang Korngold is said to be the Mozart of our time. He was 11 when he composed his first ballet, performed in the Wiener Opera. From Korngold to Williams is only a small step... I dind't say that Mozart is the best composer of all times because he composed so young. But he certainly is greater than JW at least for that fact. And you have to admitt, when you say Mozart, in almost any part of the world, people know who he is. JW is almost only popular among film music fans. Well people might be familiar with Mozart's NAME all over the world. But they are more familiar with Williams' MUSIC. Well, maybe in America. But, Mozart's music is instantly recognised anywhere you go, certainly more than JW's. Mozart is the more popular of the two, both in terms of name and music.

  4. Oh come on, people. You gotta be kidding. Mozart composed his first symphony when he was 8 years old. His first opera with 12. He is the greatest composer, not only of his time, but of all times. There is no Mozart of our time. Mozart is the Mozart of our time. That is why we still celebrate his birthday, like no other person's in history (except Jesus Christ). His music is timeless and emotional. Just because some people mistake kitch with emotions does not mean JW is more emotional than Mozart. Have you ever heard Requiem, or some of his operas? Comparing him and JW is like comparing Pink Floyd with Nsync. It is impossible. John Williams is a skilfull movie composer. He belongs to the best, but he is not the best. Mozart is the greatest musical genius and he is the best. Beethoven and Bach also belong to this category. And btw, Mozart beats JW even in the category of film music when it comes to the preference of film directors. IMDB lists 551 titles for Mozart (there is certainly more than that), and John Williams is at 287. Mozart lived only 35 years. John Williams is about to turn 74, if I am correct. Wha musical treasures would Mozart create if he lived that long.
