  1. Yep, I've seen some of the interviews and well, they're passionate to say the least, they make us nerds here look normal. I can understand why some people are upset about the changes, I can't watch the DVDs myself really (luckily there seem to be some so so alternatives), but complaining about Greedo shooting first to the point of crying is a bit much. As for the prequels, well, they are what they are, probably better left untold, so much wasted potential. Still, while bad, I don't think they're nearly as terrible as some made them to be.

I'll always probably have a love-hate relationship with Lucas, the man did make Star Wars, which is really the best of the bunch, an outstanding and risky at the time sequel (or at least he allowed to be made) and probably it's just nostalgia, cause it was such a huge part of my early childhood, but I will always love Jedi as much as the other two, it may not be great, but it's certainly fun.

  2. There are a couple of places where I think you could cut the 18 minute track. At around the 9:36 you could probably split in two for example.

I want a complete score too, but being from Lucasfilm and not being Star Wars, I'm not hopeful.

  3. I don't think Alice is that good. Granted the main theme is very good but there's not much else on the score that jumps to attention, whenever the theme is playing it's great but that's it. And as good as the theme is I do find it a bit derivative of his earlier stuff. I'm not saying it's a bad score though, but not among his best I think. I do have to listen it more.

I've been a lot more into The Wolfman actually.

  4. Everyone started to talk about how it had leak, with several "insinuations" about PMs to get the thing. That's against the rules. The moment a legal promo CD is leaked and people don't pay to get it, it becomes a bootleg.

And the board is sadly not a democracy. I don't like the "don't even mention bootlegs" stuff we have been getting, but since I like this board I have to follow their rules. Everyone else should too.

  5. Hey, it seems Hookmania has really caught on the board. Let's hope no one gets to depressed if it doesn't get released this year.

Anyway, since I like bombastic music The Ultimate War is the score's highlight for me so this LP would be useless. Actually I think those might be my two favorite tracks. It looks like a nice collectible though.

  6. There are some strange cases, The Blue Max was just released by the labels, yet it's available on iTunes from Sony, so I don't think that's a "no deal" issue. From what I understand however is that the fees are reduced after 25 years, which is why we're getting a lot of 80s stuff like BTTF. I think it's too early for Hook.

  7. Diego have you actually seen Harry and Tonto? I really doubt you have. Art Carney was awesome, he deserved the award.

It's a road film that is all but forgotten. Carney won in a powerhouse year for actors.

I haven't. But OK, let's say he deserved it, my point still stands, Al Pacino in Scent of a Woman certainly didn't deserve one, talk about overacting, he's supposed to be blind not deaf.

I will say that I think that Pacino's performance in Godfather II is as perfect as it gets.

  8. I only care about the score, and even that I don't really care that much. The Oscars are just bullshit, it's like I was reading the other day, they didn't give Al Pacino the Oscar for Godfather II in 1974 so to make up for it they gave him one in 1992 for doing a Yosemite Sam impression. That's the kind of stuff they do.

Back to the score, Up is the best score from the nominees, so I hope it wins but I really think it's going to Horner, although that may depend on how they have decided to split the pie, if Avatar is overlooked in many categories is more possible they could use the score as a consolation price. Anyway my two favorite scores weren't nominated.
