I was watching HBO tonight and there was a commercial for the upcoming premiere of Minority Report in July. The music that was playing throughout the preview sounded very Williams-esque, but I could not place where it was on the film's soundtrack. If anyone who has seen this preview knows where this music is from and wouldn't mind posting it, I would be most appreciative. Thanks.

I noticed it too... but I disagree... I didn't think it sounded like Williams at all.

Could it hav e been music from the movie that was not used?

I personally doubt that. Usually when they music from a movie in a trailer it is the major pieces from the film.

I agree with Rogue Leader. It could have been music that wasn't used, but maybe HBO decided to go with music from another movie or composer (such as how The Lord of the Rings-The Two Towers used Clint Mansell's "Lux Aeterna" from Requiem for a Dream in the last scenes of the Final Trailer they put out). This may have been the case or maybe HBO is cost-cutting and beginning to use generically composed music (perhaps by an unknown or newcomer or even a hillbilly named Ener Mc Fently; I'm messing around here.) But either of these could be the reason for the music.

Its possible but I remain uncertain.

Hmmm too bad we don't got a clip of this music.

I am virtually positive someone on here could identify it if it was from a previous work.

Longtime reader here,

Saw the clip on HBO as well (following that was one for AOTC).

If I recall correctly, the music in the clip is the classical piece used in the movie when Anderton "scubs" the images.

According to imdb, it's the 1st movement of Schubert's Symphony No. 8.

Here's a link to a sound clip (track 5 on the page):

Ahh yeah OK thats it!

Good catch!

Yeah that is the music that is played when Anderton is talking with the DA and Judge to prosecute a Pre-crime.
