Yeah, I've always known it. I wouldn't mind it so much if it wasn't so overrated. And Horner's score was vastly popular due to the movie, and that was only above average. If only half of those people would pick up a Williams score.... Oh well.

I listen to Schindler's List least, not because it's bad (it's one of my favourites), but I'm a happy person and it's only seldom when I get into a mood where I would not mind listening to the score. It's one of the few scores that can change your mood on any occasion.

Great composer, sure, but good film score composer? Nope. When will he learn that intrusive scores aren't the way to go?This is what made me laught the most. How can he be a good composer but not a good film score composer? Especially when the vast majority of his works have been film scores?
This isn't the first time I've been angered by an idiotic Harry potter fan. A few hours ago my blood was boiling when I was debating about the new movie. At least three people in the discussion are Australian (myself included) and some idiot said "didn't Australians originate from a colony of convicts? Just wondering". Then I went crazy, he started talking about how we originated from Neanderthals (Aborigines) and "vicious. demented criminals". Sure, vicious and demented to a loaf of bread. Because that's all they were guilty of stealing. *twitches with anger*

Funny how you can so easily judge PoA and I'm not allowed to judge the first two films. And I did have a reason, but as Justin already suggested it I found no reason to repeat him.
And I don't hate them. I just think they were poorly acted and generally presented. I'm sorry, but opinions can't all be the same as yours, Joe

Sorry, I meant the overwhelming criticism on the internet in general. It wasn't directed at anyone here. But if you go to any Harry potter fansite you'll see the flak that poor Gamon receives.

Harris not being able to compare to Gambon? How ridiculous. Of course we can compare! The first two films didn't just disappear in a poof of smoke when Harris departed, they're still there to make comparisons with Gambon in Poa.
Pete - Who thinks Gambon is a far superior to Harris (who was still very good nonetheless, but lacked Dumbledore's magic).

I can't believe the overwhelming critisism people have for Gambon. Here I was thinking he's the best thing that's happened to the movies when people all over the place start saying they didn't like him. Oh well, each to their own.

She looks like (I think her name is) Amber Benson; played Tara (Willow's girlfriend) in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I like her, she'll look nice when all made up and stuff.

It's laughable isn't it. It's worse than the Basilisk venom in CoS (every now and again he'd flinch or something). I laughed out loud when he called Hedwig to his arm and flinched when she landed. Granted, it would be scary having a full grown owl fly at your arm, but it's still funny.
I really love the Dementors though. Scary as hell, especially in the Quidditch match (won't spoil it).

Let's see, I read it in a transcript of an interview with Chris Rankin, who plays Percy Weasley in the films:
What's the longest time you've ever spent shooting a scene?
CR: The longest scene I've ever shot was on this first film. It was the scene with Peeves the Poltergeist. We shot it in Gloucester Cathedral cloisters.
Sadly it never made it to the final take although I hear Chris Columbus is going to be making a director's cut. In which it will be reinstated.

A lot could very well be sitting on the cutting room floor, destined to never even make it to the Deleted Scenes section. Such as more on the Marauders and (this was confirmed) Sirius attack in the dormitory.
Apparently Columbus is contemplating a LotR-style Director's Cut for the first movie in which not only the deleted scenes on the DVD appear, but Peeves as well. It was filmed but never made it to the final cut - or deleted scenes menu. If this were to be successful we could very well have one for CoS and (hopefully) PoA. I'm sure my distaste for the first two films would decrease with these added scenes.

True, but as they're both Williams' most recent scores they're easier to compare. Plus the majority of people here think PoA a is superior score to The Terminal.

What about Frank Oz? Or was that pre-Muppets/Sesame Street as well?
