My second choice is John Ottman - he can probly bench like 270. I think tie for last would be between JW, Vangelis and Howard Shore. I think Goldsmith could defly put up a good fight and I bet Zimmer, Young and Poledorious could also.

Coming from someone who recently called Big band music "lame-ass 40's stuff"... This is a little hard to swallow. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Well - thats exactly what I mean - that was my opinion, still is - you don't agree and it proves my point. Its not even worth arguing over.
I was responding only to all of the - "Ice Pick b/w the ears" and such comments. There are plenty of people who feel equally as passionate for rap as most here do for film, they just wont be surfing/posting here.

Jo Ann does music prep - the contractor does the hiring. But his parts are so damn hard - i am certain that there are 50 percent of people in town who couldn't play his stuff, especially the non string instruments that cannot hide in numbers.

I was wondering if anyone had a list of the session players JW uses for his orchestras. Most especially the dates in LA. I know Dave Newman and some other people release the orchestra names, I have not come accross any concrete info on this. I only recognize a few people on the small clips with the orchestra in ET and such.
I also wonder how much the LA peeps make off residuals from those dates, that most be a hot ticket to get on.

Seriously, I am sure Rachmaninoff who towered at 6'5 and Scriabin, who was crazy, could beat down Phill Collins. Obviously you have never seen Garrick Ohlsson in real life either - he is one of the best pianists i have ever heard and biggest guys I have ever seen. I also know alot of classical musicians who are crazy and can brawl good - especially after sitting in the practice room all day by them self.
