Lurker 5
I just bought this compilation that has the themes to Jaws and Star Wars conducted by Arthur Fiedler. I knew he had recorded these but wasn't aware of any album that ever had them. Were they available before? Star Wars is a very unique arrangement that I've never heard anywhere else.Neil

Williamsfan301 11
Fiedler was kinda known for playing paddy fingers with the arrangements of "pop" tunes if he didn't like them. Wouldn't have surprised me if he did it with Star Wars. Jaws sounds very different too - much more percussive and faster.I have on vinyl a recording of the Boston Pops playing "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" with Fiedler conducting. At the end, everyone in the orchestra starts singing "ya ya ya!" at the top of their lungs. It's hilarious!
Lurker 5
According to Miguel, who PM'd me, Fiedler recorded this Star Wars piece and "Princess Leia's Theme" at his last recording session. This seems to be the first release of Star Wars.Neil
