saiorlianna 0
Hello! I'm writing a paper on John Williams for my Music History class but I can't find any non-internet sources. Does anyone knoe of any magazine's or books that have information on John Williams in them. My teacher is very specific about which sources we can use and sadly the internet is on we can't use a lot of. Thanks. -saiorlianna
Henry B 50
There aren't many. You might search the archives of magazines like the New York Times for "John Williams music" or "John Williams composer."
nightscape94 965
I will make it a point to write a JW biography in the next 10 years. It will be a comprehensive tome.
Miguel Andrade 1,264
There are many books that iclude extensive information on Williams work, and in a few cases even interviews. Sadly some have been long out of print. Also a large number of interviews is available from newspapers and magazines, dating from as early as the mid 70's.CD and LP notes may also be a good source. For reference, you may check the John Williams Web Pages (www.johnwilliams.org). Jeff lists there a large number of amterial that you should try to check out. Also search the Boston Globe archives. Since 1980 Williams has been interviewd by them a number of times. A few of those articles are in my web site (johnwilliams.jw-music.net)As for a full biography, I've begun it, is a work in progress, and part of it is up in my site, but only in Portuguese. A full and expanded english version is on the works,a dn will be premiering by Williams 75th birthday. To my knowledge that will be the largest and most detailed effort on that area ever.
