  1. Which is better, Jaws or Jaws 2? I personally prefer Jaws 2 over Jaws. While Jaws has the shark theme, most of it seems to be dead music. Jaws 2 is alive with breathtaking action pieces, beautiful harp solos, and exhilirating, fun pieces. This is my first poll, so if something goes horribly wrong, I'm sorry.
  2. There's no guarantee that you'll be able to. When I tried, we ended up just watching him through a window in a door for a few minutes. Then he disappeared. He was talking to someone, though, so if you've got inside connections...well, give me a ring. Actually, and this is totally true, my uncle's friend son's friend's uncle is John Williams. We tried to contact him through this bizarre connection, with no luck. I know, sounds like something from Spaceballs.
  3. Just curious as to who creates the titles of tracks when you buy the actual soundtrack (my favorite is probably "The Menu" from Jaws 2). Is it the producer of the soundtrack, the actual composer, or someone else?
  4. Isn't Pixar part of Disney? But yes, I agree w/ Steef. When I said Disney, I meant animated.
  5. Yeah, I guess they're all the same. That would work.
  6. I agree, but it would be interesting to hear how Williams handles it.
  7. Disney has used some of the most popular composers of recent days: Hans Zimmer (Lion King), Danny Elfman (Flubber), so wouldn't it be nice to hear by far THE most popular composer score one?
  8. Catch Me If You Can, A.I., the other Harry Potter scores, The Terminal, and the Star Wars prequels were excellent works as well. While the rest may not be as great for purley listening to by themselves, they still fit their movies perfectly.
  9. Williams and Spielberg had a fallout after Geisha. Do we know what the fallout was about? Was it big? Speilberg can't stop 32 years of tradition and excellent film scores just because they had one small creative argument! And he confirmed several months ago that he's using Williams for Lincoln and Interstellar, right? And he used Williams for Munich, which came out after Geisha, right?? I can't belive he's actually considering different composers!
  10. The reason William's scores aren't as iconic anymore is because big brass fanfares like Superman wouldn't fit in something like Minority Report, or Home Alone. He's simply becoming able to adapt better to different types of film, which is something many composers (such as Danny Elfman and Hans Zimmer) lack. And since when was Hans Zimmer going to score Indiana Jones 4?? I had no clue! Does this mean all future projects of Spielberg will be scored by Zimmer? He's a great composer, but no where near as good as Williams!!
  11. I don't think he'll mind. In the middle of a Hollywood Bowl performance, someone shouted, "We love you John!" and he laughed and said, "Thank you."
  12. If you wait after his Hollywood Bowl performance, can you meet him?
  13. 1645 songs, 3.8 days, 5.15 GB, but I"m getting three new CDs soon
  14. Here's a collection of JW interviews: http://www.mahawa.jw-music.net/interviews/inter_index.htm
  15. The electric guitar fits right in, the wailing woman only enhances the scene, and Spielberg told Williams to do techno for A.I.
  16. Board the Shuttle: Journey to the Island (Jurassic Park) Countdown Begins: The Chess Game (Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone) Lift Off: Call of the Champions (American Journey) OR Soarin' (Soarin' Over California) OR Buckbeak's Flight (PoA) Sky turns to Space: The Darkside of the Moon (Apollo 13) BONUS: Rescuing Sarah (The Lost World: Jurassic Park)
  17. Well, I've just sent the e-mail. Thanks everyone for responding, I'll tell you the reply, if I get one...
  18. I realize that is possible, but I really want this soundtrack, and I have nothing to loose.
  19. THanks! I'll send them all e-mails. If anyone else knows of any other label that releases soundtracks that have never been released, please post them w/ their contact info.
  20. Sure! Anyone have their contact info? (preferably e-mail)
