Motif from AOTC??

Does anyone know what this theme/motif represents? I found it twice in the original album for similar situations (Shmi's fate, but it's not Shmi's theme, is it?), in the following tracks:

Track 8: 2:40 (little bit hidden) - 3:21

Track 10: 1:25 - 2:33; 2:48 - 3:10

(Okay, after listening to it again, I've realised it is a motif repeated over and over, but what for?)

I don't remember it being dicussed here in the MB. Has it?
