Krang 1 Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 I didn't see a topic for this but I just found out he passed away two nights ago.http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2012/dec/25/composer-richard-rodney-bennett-diesMurder On The Orient Express is one of my favorite scores ever composed.
Naïve Old Fart 13,025 Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 I'm with you there! "MOTOE" is a fantastic score, and well deserving of its Oscar nomination. "Equus", "Far From The Madding Crowd", "Four Weddings And A Funeral", his work on the Doctor Who story "The Aztecs", and "Gormenghast" aren't too shabby, either. Also, check out his work with the jazz singer, Claire Martin.
A24 5,156 Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Holy! That's a big name in the British modern composers world! I think I have two 'classical' CDs of him. R.I.P.Alex

JamieC 13 Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Far From the Madding Crowd is one of my favourite pieces of film music. I shall listen to it today.
