Can't speak for Babylon but yes it sucks for Top Gun. It wasn't even eligible in the score category this year, either due to the number of composers or for using Faltermeyer's original theme. Which is silly because I recall the Star Wars sequel trilogy getting nominations in the score category.

Babylon and Top Gun are the only films on Paramount's FYC site this year and the scores got the shaft. It's been a few years since they had music on their FYC page.
