I guess I was in denial until I heard your review of the Williams concert last night. I enjoyed the performance very much and it was a real treat to see him conducting his works. As a trumpet player I did pick up the trumpet/trombone problems(JFK/ET). In addition, I think John was not getting what he wanted from the strings on several occasions. I really think the philiharmonic had a hard time playing up to his music. Not there normal venue I suppose, I see them 6-8 times a year playing up to perfection. Dan
